My expertise in power systems is pretty kingarten but...:

All these states have their own nuclear power stations, etc. etc. So WHY do all those states have to depend on one another? I don't get it. Or is it so US to just be dependent upon EVERYONE ELSE for getting everything???

IOts convenient for redistributinmg power between different grids, when one is to low etc. But its also a problem because when one goes down, others go down too.
