Potential Hair Loss Problem

Biter

New member
I've got a weird situation with my hair, or maybe not.

I've got hair that is very thin on top. It appears to be MPB at first glance. The thing is, it's been this way for quite some time - going on about 7 years.

It's not balding, it's just that the hair is very thin up on the crown, to the point where you can see the top of my head, even though the hairs are there.

I've tried to do things to thicken it - Nizoral, minoxidil, nioxin. None of them seem to do anything to alleviate this, as the hair just stays thin.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what is going on here.

I've never done a cycle before. I'm planning my first one coming up soon, with things that wouldn't normally affect the hairline, anavar being one of them. However, in the future I'd like to try something that could potentially put a hurting on the rug.

Any recommendations here? I've considered some different topical stuff, such as spironolactone or azelaic acid. Wanted to get some feedback before I made any moves.

Karma will be given. Thanks.

How long did you try minoxidil? Have you tried Propecia? Both of them take time for some people.. we're talking up to a year for solid gains. The hair may go through shedding phases so many people think that it doesn't work or is making the mpb worse so they stop. I haven't seen your hair... but if you're losing in the crown it's likely mpb.. jsut really slow acting. I would try the minox, nizoral and propecia for a year before making up my mind about if it works or not. Good luck.. kinda going through the same thing myself *weeps*

Thanks for the reply Naeblis. K to you.

I've used minoxidil for nearly a year straight now. It's strange, because it really hasn't gotten any better or any worse over the last five years.

The nizoral I've been using for about 6 months.

I haven't tried Propecia. From what I've read, I'm a little hesitant to use a systemic DHT conversion blocker, although I'm still considering it or some other type of topical that will have the similar DHT blocking effect.

Good luck to you to you man.

Are you using the 2 or 5 % minox and how much and how often are you applying it? It may not work for you.. it does happen :D Just a word of caution, minox grown hair depends on minox, so if you stop using it, any hair grown with it will be lost. Spiro I hear can be decent for blocking dht but right now propecia seems to be king. Either way, if it IS mpb, eventually you're going to have to use some kind of dht inhibitor.

Ah, thanks again man.

I'm using the 5% minox. I've heard that it does have a negative effect if you stop using it, so yeah, I'm prepared for that.

I guess the best thing to do is talk to a doctor about hairloss.
