postworkout shake

i was wondering if a banana would be a good source of dextrose or maltodextrin to include in my post workout shake. i was thinking of picking up shake powder specifically for after workout but until i do i need something to substitute. if thats not good would it be ok to include maybe some sweet tarts since they are mostly dextrose. i'm trying to tweak my diet a little bit and just need a little help
 
Sweetarts are fine, anything with a high-gi and little fructose works (check out the GI list fonz posted on this board a while back for ideas)

Sweetarts are fine because they contain dextrose and maltodextrin. Perfect for post workout! I enjoy em' so much, I look forward to my afternoon workouts!:p
 
as for workout carbs,

50% maltodextrins
50% dextrose
is one of the best deal
 
thanks to all who have replied. i tried one of the Isopure zero carb drinks today. (the ones in the glass bottle) and downed about 52 g of dextrose/maltodextrin from 4-5 rolls of sweettarts. the reason for choosing the "fruit punch" flavored drink is because the thought of choking down chocolate or vanilla right after i work out seemed rather disgusting. this is a little more pricey than i'd like to allow but if it works...you can't argue with it. i think i may try the isopure tropical flavored packets. at least those are different from your standard chocolate/vanilla/strawberry. after three months of suckin thos muthas down i'm pretty sick of em. i almost gag sometimes.
