Postworkout Protein

Just curious, there's no reason to have my whey protein on non-training days, right? Assuming I got my necessary amounts of protein. I want to try and conserve. Besides, it's whey, fast-digesting so meant for after a workout usually.

Would that be okay? Not going to really have any adverse effects, right? Just want to try and save some money, since that's an ongoing issue for me.

if youre getting enough protein on off days from normal foods then there is no reason why you would need your whey shake. IMO protein from real foods is much better, although I have a hard time getting enough down with work and school, so I take a few shakes...

I dont know dude... I mean, days when you are not lifting, you are recovering. It seems to me that the protein is needed while recovery is taking place [building muscle tissue]. But, i dont really know the time lines for that kind of stuff.

As for money, i feel your pain on that one. I have been trying to find a job for like a month now!!! Its sucks. I can't even find a bad job to bitch about. Plus, rent is so freaking high around here [nyc]. I feel guilty buying food cause i can't really afford that much.

Its not the healthiest, but i find PB&j sandwhiches a cost-effective food solutions... protein, fats, carbs. Of course not that great variety.

Fatty, he said assuming that he gets the necessary amount from other foods...so he is building muscle tissue either way, whether its protein from foods, or from whey.

LK - I think you are right. If you can replace shakes with regular food on your off days, by all means do it.

I was always confused about this. Is it, you GROW during sleep, and recover basically all the time, so long as you're relaxed (sitting, reading, lying down, just talking -- something that uses minimal energy)
