OK...
My 2 lbs of #1 Whey Protein Isolate and my 11 pounds of Dextrose has just came in from Supplement Direct. I have a lot of food to choose from at my house. So, can anyone give me a decent post workout shake recipe with what I have?
Thanks

Mix it with water, milk, juice, gatorade???
Also, do I add anything else?
And... how many grams are in a quarter of a cup?

I mix whey with milk post workout. Like, 16 oz, milk. One full scoop. Sometimes I'll add a couple scoops ice cream, maybe some peanut butter. Extra calories. Mmmmm.

you definitely dont wanna mix it with peanut butter or ice cream as the fat will only slow down the absorption of the much needed glucose.

I really hate you guys! Okay...not hate, envy is more like it! Us chicks are always looking for ways to cut back and you guys are always looking to add on!

P.S. Ice cream & peanut butter...those are my favorite! (but I've never tried them together!)

well u r really gonna hate this

2-3 cups of water

60g chocolate protein

2 bannanas

1 tbsp peanutbutter

4 grahm crackers

2 nature valley peanutbutter or brown sugar granola bars

handfull of ice

yum yum mix up it has 1020 cals, 74g protein, 135g carbs, 25 g fat

Dairy = casein. It absorbs slower than whey protein.

There are some great articles at t-mag written by John Berardi who is an absolute guru when it comes to post-workout nutrition. Read up on it.

So, what I'm getting out of this thread is that I should just mix my 50g of dextrose, 50g of whey with water and drink it after my workout? Doesn't sound that tastey.. but hey, whatever works.
