post workout meal

There has been much discussion about the post workout meal. I am aware of cho/protein/fats and how the % need to be to satisfy the body. My question is---do you eat immed. after a workout to satisfy the glycogen stores and risk a drop in GH or do you wait for an hour so the GH in the body can go back to the norm. This is for a wt lifter that is not on A.S

I'm assuming you have a post workout shake directly after your workout, in which case you should eat the post workout meal about 45-60mins after that.
 
your body can only use so much at one time. the post workout shake should provide enough calories and protein/carbs for your body immediately after your workout. there is no need to eat a meal immediately on top of that.
 
when I talk about a meal or a shake I mean one or the other. My concern is will there be a drop in GH levels if I eat right after a workout?
 
thanks, that is my belief. I wanted to check on other peoples opinion. I have talked to some dietician and theories varied.
 
I eat mashed potatoes without any butter and stuff, as little fat as possible and to that a big proteinshake(whey). I do thisn postworkout when I come home as I walk home and are cutting. Then 1-1½ hours later I eat another meal with low fat, high protein. Often Rice and chicke + wheydrink.
