just wondering what do you guys eat after your workout/?

Would honey be a good insuline spike after a workout?
 
yes honey is a good high gi sources of carbs post workout, though 2 tbsp is only around 34 grams and already hard enough to eat day after day, dextrose or maltodextrin would be a much better choice as a much higher gi rating. get some whey protein in there too.
 
Instead of having a whey portein ,would a protein bar be enough?

What do you think about milk +honey as an insuline spike?
 
Honey has lots of fructose if i'm not mistaken. Fructose will refill liver glycogen before it goes to refill muscle glycogen. Dextrose is best to refill muscle glycogen. I've experimented w/ lots of shakes and this has worked best for me:

shake 1= 50g dextrose, 50g whey
shake 2= 50g whey (taken b/w 1-2 hours after 1st)

this should cover your window of opportunity and refill muscle glycogen.

then eat your solid meal.
 
A protein bar would not be good. The quality of proteins is generally poor.
After my work-outs I have 3 lbs. of lean steak, chicken, or turkey w/ some fish oils.
 
I am bulking now...

I drink an XXL drink by ABB.

1,090 calories
50g protein
215g carbs
.5g of fat.

Yummy.

Hour later, Chicken Parm Sandwich. :)

I total 3,600 calories/day now and they are pretty decent.
