I understand that right after you are done training it is important to flood your body with simple carbs, protein, and glutamine. In this "anabolic state" -Do these nutrients go just to the muscles you just trained or all of them. i.e. If I do tons of squats today and finish up with a high glycemic shake, glutamine peptides, and whey will my muscles I trained yesterday be prime for these nutrients? In this same respect--while you are lifting you are in a catabolic state- proteins are being broken down for energy--is this a local effect on the muscle or on all skeletal muscle?

The nutrients go to all of your muscles but I would expect that a bit more will be absorbed by the muscles you have just depleted in your workout.

After a workout is the best time to reload your body with glycogen and amino acids. Part of the reason for the simple carbs is to cause your body to produce a lot of insulin. Protein is best utilized in your body when a lot of insulin is flowing around. Insulin helps shuttle nutriets into the cells.
