hey gang,

i went in the hospital last wednesday and had a microdiscectomy on thursday..i came home yesterday and the surgery went well..the only problem i had was taking a piss , which i couldnt do so they had to stick a cathador in me to empty the bladder..that was a real fucked up feeling...well i'm sore as hell but the sciatic pain that was killing me is gone...all the pain now is coming from where he cut on me so i think once i heal it will all be good...oh and i took a walk around the block today so there is light at the end of this tunnel...

Glad everything went well. Hope you have a speedy recovery.....

Good to hear bro...
I had a piss tube when I had my hip operated on...really strange feeling to have a rubber tube hanging out the end of your pecker. Rest and Rehab bro and you'll back in the saddle in no time.

thanks guys..not sure how long it takes to fully recover but #1 was waking up and #2 was fixing the problem...at 40 i would have to say my days of lifting heavy are over..even though i wasnt injured in the gym i dont want to ever go through this again....

Just turn up the reps a little and you'll be fine.
It might even make you a little more ripped! :garza:
Keep us posted on your recovery bro.

I hope this speeds up what has been a long recovery from an unfortunate accident. Your positive outlook shows that you have a strong constitution and a lot of character. Take care.

Hey bro i sincerely hope all goes well with your recovery.....Keep thinking positive......and good luck

Great, I am glad to here that. Good luck on your recovery.

btw, the cath hurts like a bitch but if you gotta go and you can't - it is the greatest feeling in the world.

Been down that road too

good to hear that the microdisketomy took care of the pain. Your lower back will be stiff for a few weeks, but it isn't that bad except you get bored just sitting around doing nothing. I have to use a Soloflex Rockit now to do squats and it's the next best thing to real squats that I've found. The lunges you can do on it also help rebuild strength in the glutes, hamstring, calf of the affected leg. I still can't bend forward and pick things up like a normal person, have to use arm to help and something to push against or I get in trouble again. But, you learn to adapt and go on. Keep us posted on your recovery and take care.

thanks for the support guys, i went to the gym today and walked on the treadmill at the lowest speed for one mile and did a set of 12lb db curls...:D

YOU ALREADY WENT BACK TO THE GYM? ? ? ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY? ;)

welcome back. i'm glad everything has worked out for you. you're making a much faster come back than i did. i was laid up in the hospital for 2.5 weeks when i have my back done. (different set of problems) as for the cathador, oh the memories . . mine got infected and had to be removed and reinserted every few hours. it's killing me just thinking about it.

good luck on your way back to 100%
