Post here if you have been arrested before.

Arrested once for shoplifting a candy bar when I was like 13... never convicted, got some weird probation thing coordinated through my school. I always wondered if it would show up on a CIA background check or not.

When I was 17 I got busted for grand theft auto, speeding, evading the police and something like endangering the lives of civilians or something during the chase in car and foot haha. Also damaged the vehicle hitting a bump in the road at 85mph. I believe the posted speed limit was like 35-40 so the road wasn't perfectly flat. Caused about 1,500 in damage to the van. Ran a bunch of red lights.

Spent 1 night in juvy lmao. I shoulda got in more trouble.

three arrests

AAP---DUI if first offense no collision / injuries

6 month license suspension, work permit after 30 days, biz license only
$500 or so fine, could be higher if very high BAC
DUI classes / counseling / evaluation (costs like $300)
One year probation ($40 / month)
50 hrs community service
10 day vehicle impoundment

If you go to trial and lose you'll do 15-30 days in jail. If your friend doesn't wanna fight it, he should plead no contest. If you need anything, PM me. I am good.

Lestate - yes it would show up on a CIA background check, depending on what you are applying for. When I was leaving teh Army I talked to the CIA about clandestine ops (just a group presentation) and had a similar issue, they said yes, it will turn up, will not be an issue, but they can find it. I believed them.

2 dui's. First one: 3 months licenes supension, 1 year probation, 6 weeks rehab
second one: 10 days in jail, 6 months house arrest, 2 years probation, 6 weeks rehab, crap load of money
Now I dont drink

Will it be on a database somewhere? I doubt it.

But will it show up? Yes. How? they'll _ask_ you point blank about all kinds of stuff. And since you have to be honest -- you'll probably admit it. Including time, date, etc.

They'll even give you a polygraph when asking about criminal behavior. You'll have no choice but to admit it -- so showing up or not showing up will be irrelavant.

But don't sweat it. You'd be surprised at how much crap they'll ignore as long as you're honest. They're not lookin' for beaver cleavers with the proper skillset and motivation to be the perfect fit. Very few of those exist.

Here's a hint: Watch this video describing the background process for a Torrance, Ca police officer. The process is pretty similar in thoroughness:

Whilst driving a friends car which had foreign registration plates I was stopped and had my veichle searched by the police. They found a tube of a putty like substance under one of the car seats. Thinking that it was an explosive, they hid the tube again and let the dogs sniff it out, which they did immediately!

I was then arrested under the suspicion of terrorism act and held overnight in a cell whilst they sent the substance to the lab.

The next morning the results came back from the lab. It turns out to be a tube of, 'Doctor Dings Yacht Putty.' Apparently you place this in the cracks of your boat and it reacts and goes hard with the water.

You can immagine the embarrassment. Two policemen came in person to my home the next day to apologise.

True story!
