Post Cardio Shake / Meal

Read in a few post that you guys have been having a 50g protein shake post cardio, then an hour later a bowl of oatmeal.

Thats what I have been doing for the past 3 months, but I have been having my oatmeal with the shake.

Wanted to know the reasoning of you guys waiting an extra hour for the oatmeal. Thanks
 
I start on raw oatmeal at my desk about 30 mins after. I eat it pretty slowly.

However, I throw 20-30g of dextrose into my shake because it is the optimal time for my body to use it and refuel my muscles.
 
I have a huge (well, 1 cup dry measure) of steel cup oats and a scoop of protein just about an hour after cardio.......as soon as I get to the office........but, I scarf it.....
