Don't have too much coming up on the horizon... nothing until a PL meet in December... so I'm looking to add a couple hundred lbs to my old total, which in turn should help me out a bit in strongman... who knows.

Have been having trouble getting into the gym between competitions and stuff... so having some free time feels great, feels nice to be back

350 on the GM's..wow.

I feel weak now...

Cint... You have more in you than the 450-something GM you did the other day.... I know it.

Yeah...the 455 wasn't all that hard. I think I have close to 600 in me during the next month but I am also a lot larger bone frame and about 100 pounds more bodyweight than you.

A 350 GM is VERY impressive man...seriously. I really can't pinpoint your weaknesses in strongman yet...you have so much strength and athletic ability...we just have to find a way to put it all together...

I know what it is. It's his speed. He's just a little slow on all of the events. :)

Kidding, of course.
...chad...

Clint... honestly, I see my strongman weaknesses as grip and stones, mainly... with a bit more strenght, and some improvement in those areas, i think i can do pretty well.

and joker, they were free-standing... I rarely do GMs from the bottom position... i just feel that they're not as good a workout as the full ROM ones are

And thanks NWinters... but you're still stronger than I :p

Hmmm...grip takes time and I really don't know about the stones. I"ve always felt better at them when I added bands to my box squats for some reason.

I really do love the chain suspended gm's though...feel they help more on the deadlift than about anything. I rarely do free GM's though..so maybe I am missing something. I'll keep them in my rotation for a while I guess...

your ridiculious. thats just crazy. good work for sure. if that powerlifting competition in december is in nashville, then ill come too.

question........... how far down did you go on the gm's. 45 degrees or parallel???

X

X, the meet is in December... almost positive it's in the Nashville area.

GMs weren't quite to parallel... but were lower than 45, i used the notches on the power rack to judge depth.

16th is as good of a weekend as any... we're there every Sat., and I know Ryan and Michael are gearing up for nationals.

If you do that PL meet... be prepared to meet some VERY strong guys in the 250-275 range... could really learn a lot

Other work, some rows, face pulls, front raises, abs... rough day today, I have to play catch-up on this exercise...

Nice on the gm's man. That's about 2x the weight I use right now. No offense man but I think your lower body is really strong in comparison to your upper body. I mean you were basically running with the yoke with ease but had a hard time on the viking. I think you might need more shoulder work+ some close-grip bench for tri work, just a suggestion

hey bud. sounds like you need to bomb your triceps. i know you worked up to a 1 rep max on bench and then on the 2 board. but only a 10 lb difference????? that just seems a little low.

X

Seemed very low to me as well. My triceps just died... need to work on them a lot... also speed off the chest is lacking.

Again... I haven't had a bench WO in over 3 months, so I think these numbers will go up quickly.

yeah im sure they will. you've got a fighters spirit. 3 things though.

1). the gang will be heading down there on Saturday the 16th for training at "The Club in Brentwood". So far it will be me and Trinity73. But Cheesecake and Puttinbutton maybe coming as well. and who know maybe i can even talk adam into coming.

2). bomb those tate presses. get good at those and your bench and ohp will go up.

3) just my recomendation to help with the stones. try seated zercher goodmornings. sit on the edge of a bench with the bar in the nook of your elbows. and bend over at the waist untill they touch the ground. just an idea.

X

X: I'll let everyone know you're headed up.

Good idea on the Zercher GMs... I've started throwing Zercher DLs into the routine, to help with pulling from a lower starting point... Im also gonna start doign some more DLs off of platforms.

I'll hit up the Tate Presses... for probably hte first time ever I'm determined to have a huge BP
