Is there any side effect of aas that you guys know of that would cause someone to become hypoglycemic(sp?)? i wonder only because a friend of mine just found out not too long ago that he is indeed hypoglycemic, hes been on aas for about 3-4 years.

I dont really know, im 99% sure he was just genetically destined for this, but i wont know until i ask.

Though it is very very rare highly androgenic steroids can cause hypoglycemia.

Yes, it is possible, especially if the muscle is requiring far more carbs than he is putting in. Sometimes the muscle will resort to fat stores, but for some who don't have alot of fat, and have limited carb diets, yes....hypoglycemia would be more prevalent I would think.

If he has quit in the last year, then I don't know why he'd have hypoglycemia. Does he have siblings that have sugar or diabetes?

well he is still on cycles but hes not doin the harsh orals he use to. as far as i know he doesnt have a family predisposition to it. is the condition permanent?

Okay, I am a bit confused. Is he on cycles now even if they aren't oral? Just because he hasn't used oral steroids, doesn't mean that he isn't using steroids. I think alot of it would have to do with his dependence upon glycogen no matter what he is using (androgenic, anabolic, or otherwise). He can always buy a meter at the drug store that will give him an idea of what his blood sugar is upon waking and throughout the day.

yes im sorry for the confusion, he stopped taking orals about a year ago. he does nothing but injectables now and i just talked to him he says its largely gone now. but when he diets hard for cutting it gets worse he says.

Is he on Insulin? If he is that could be the cause... Best thing to do is see a doc since hypoglycemia can be fatal

your saying when he diets hard he gets hypo, well no shit man. and i donno, but var made me go hypo, i'd get dizzy spells after taking it and have to eat food, i'd get the shakes so bad. injects don't do it to me but everyone's different. i no longer use orals either.
