Viper all the way. May not be the best performer, but will get you the most .....haha.
Porsche is nice, but way too common, you will always be longing for the turbo or GT3 at least...
I had a 996 carrera with Aerokit, rims looked awesome but at the same time, very docile and boring. GOod performer, but just not for me.

Have you ever lost control with a mid-engine ? It basically does a 360 until it stop on its own. Rear engine is uncommon I agree but when you lose control, it's easier to get back on the track. Maybe not the perfect 50-50 ratio but after all these years, I guess Porsche found something on the rear-engine setup that we dont know yet....
