40 years ago the cops, would have knocked the shit out of him with a night stick. Dumped his ass in the back of the car and taken him in and worked him up good enough he would have thought twice before being that stupid again.

People have the wrong fear of the law these days.

No reason to be outraged

Law enforcement around the country follow the same set of rules regarding engagement.

If someone is within 21 feet of you and wielding something that can cause death, then you are within the law to fire upon the assailant.

Doesn't matter if the guy is naked or wearing a chearleader outfit. He was likely asked many times to put down the device and then he was shot. One less idiot.

Police officers have one thought going through their head when they're called to threatening situations, and that thought is to come home in one piece.

BTW.
A 2 foot long piece of metal is a dangerous weapon,
and you can kill somebody with it.

Warik saw the point that I was making... and I can't believe that all of you don't agree that this was a justifiable use of of deadly force??? the naked part only tells you about the guys state of mind. he was crazy and not listening to their commands. it makes no difference whether he is clothes or naked if he is coming at you with a deadly weapon. shoot the fucker. i would have shown off my marksmanship and put one right in his scrotum.

So, with a madman coming at you with a two-foot long, sharp metal device you're going to run back to the squad car and grab a shotgun.

Guns were designed to kill. Law Enforcement officers are not taught to 'shoot to maim', they are taught to shoot to kill.

Those officers did the right thing.

they both had no choice as at the end of the day why needlessly risk their lives for someone tryin to kill them and innocent bytanders

HOWEVER

why did none of them have the sense of mind to load up the bean bag bullets, or get a taser, or some mace before the confrontation

i dont know how bean bag bullets are loaded but i assume they are modified shotgun cartridges which should be wasy top load i would have thought.

if the situation requoired them to enter the premises immeadietly i might sympathise. but if they had time on the way to load up the bean bag rounds (lets face it one of them managed to grab a shotgun, and i though u guys now all had tasers ior someting) then maybe a change in policy is needed.

but the officers should be immeadiately reinstated. he was naed but armed. period.

Bag Guns

Bag Guns are special issue for riot control or special situations.

Most officers have mace on their persons. Most people who are on a rage or hyped up on drugs do not respond to mace or pepper spray.

Would you reach for mace or a gun when someone is running at you with a 2 foot metal, sharp thingy-majig?
