Please say a prayer for my mother!

SofaGeorge said:

I appreciate that, but most people will find that annoying and I can't blame them. I have heard from those I consider to be my elite family and that's whats important.

I hope everything goes well and a successful outcome for your mom, stay strong and prayers to your family!!

Give this to her...
.

Dear God,
Be my redeemer, my internal teacher, my divine physician.
Thank You for your presence in my life.
I surrender to You all I am, all I think, all I feel, and all I have.
I recognize in this moment that Yours is the power to heal and make whole.
You who have the power to work miracles,
You who rule time and space, please take me in Your arms and hold me.

Dear Lord, please lift me up and heal me.
Cast out of my mind all thoughts that are not of You.
Cast out of me all harsh and critical nature.
Cast out of me all violence and all anger.
Cast out of me all demons from my past.
For I would be made new.

I wish to walk so close to You that we might be as one.
I ask for new life, new mind, new body, new spirit.
Dear God, please come into me, heal me and release me from this pain.

Amen.

FFactor, I don't believe in prayer. Prayer is nothing more than a pyschologically-pleasing tool created by mankind in order for mankind to think they have some sway or control over God's power. But since God is all-knowing and all-powerful, why would he need you, or anyone of us, to "pray" to him in order for him to understand our needs, wants, desires and worries? If God is all-knowing, he ALREADY knows what you, and all of us, want. Don't waste your time on prayer. The all-knowing God already knows what you want. And the all-knowing God bases his decisions on his great and infinite wisdom, not based on the advice of inferior mere mortal men such as ourselves.....although I would never presume to predict nor dictate God's actions, I would like to state that I think he knows your mother is a righteous soul, and will help her through her rough time ahead.

FFactor,

Disregard Hulkster's annoying rant and pray for your mom...I do believe in the power of praying and I am gonna say one for you too..Do not underestimate the power of prayer!

Actually, believe or not, Prayer has been Scientifically
proven to improve medical outcomes and speed recovery.

Double blind testing was done and the strange part is that the participants did not know if they were being prayed for or not during the tests..

FF , Is your mother a religious person?

If so, she will get great comfort knowing this many strangers
are praying for her...

Tell her, show her.. seriously !

She is and I will tell her. In fact I will print out all the responses form this thread and show them to her. She will be touched. Her surgery is scheduled for 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning but I'm guessing a lot of time will be spent doing prep work. She was diagnosed with colo-rectal(sp) cancer earlier this week, so the turnaround time for surgery was very quick on account of my aunt being a physician and having ties to Johns Hopkins and Franklin Memorial.

Good idea! I bet that her morale would get quite a boost when she will read those kind thoughts. Praying is one of the reason miracle happen....

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I love my mother more than anything in the world and I'm sure you feel the same way about yours. My thoughts are with you.

Yeah man I'll do the same...myself and all four of my kids will be on our knees in prayer tonight for her.

What would be cool is to time it so we're all praying together (at the same time). I'll make sure we get started at 9:30 EST if anyone wants to join us. Or if someone agrees to a different time that'll be fine also.

good luck to her

If you truly believe in God, than how can you make such a moronic comment in regards to "the power of prayer"? If you TRULY believe in God, then don't you also believe he is ALL-KNOWING? Thus, why would he need you to convey your thoughts to Him through prayer, since he knows everything anyway? As a said, prayer is nothing more than a pyschologically-pleasing tool created by mankind to make them feel better about their adverse conditions and situations. God already knows what you want, and what you are thinking. Out-to-sea, I can't believe that you truly believe that unless you told God what you wanted through prayer, He wouldn't know what you were thinking. Do you really believe that crap? That God only knows your thoughts if you tell him through prayer? Whether you want to tell God anything or not, he already knows what you are thinking and doing. Prayer is a waste of time and pure nonsense---grow up.

Well, I just got home from the hospital to take a quick shower. Her surgery ended at 1:00 p.m. She had a large tumour which was removed. The good thing is that it did not spread to the liver. Bad news is it pushed through the bowel walls and may have reached her lymph nodes. They won't know until the tumour is analyzed by pathologists. The surgeon said he was going to recommend her for chemo just to be safe. Thanks for all your prayers and kind wishes.

god bless her, i had a sis that died of cancer at age 40 but that was because it was inoperable(sp), your mom will be fine. good luck

I'm home for the night. My brother is staying with her at the hospital. The surgery seems to have gone quite well and she is in good spirits when she is awake. This is mentally and physically exhausting. I saw this really young girl in the cancer ward. Very pretty, in her early twenties. Broke my heart!

She is improving. She took morphine only twice today as opposed to every two hours yesterday. They also made her sit up a couple of times. She was running a high fever and they took urine and blood samples for infection. The are giving her 650 mg of tylenol every four hours to keep the fever down. She was sleeping when I left.

this is great news...normally i am not the praying type...but the kronks said some words for your mom.... :)

done brother.

I keep thinking about you D. :) Positive thoughts for you and your family.

Thanks Princesss! All her tubes are out. She is still hooked up to an IV but they will more than likely take it out tomorrow. The pathology results also come back tomorrow which will determine what stage cancer she has.

We got the pathology reports back today. She has been put in stage 3, cancer that has not metastasized. She will need chemo and radiation.

She'll be okay, FFACTOR. Maybe her stomach was so weak after her operation, that her stomach couldn't handle potent medication like percocet. It's only a minor setback, don't worry.

Yes I think so too, they gave her solid food this morning. If she can handle it they will release her today.

:) Good to hear!

Never been very close to my parents as I was raised by my grandmother. Over the last couple of weeks I have come to realize that I can't quite imagine life without her.

Excellent news! Glad to hear she is recovering. Is the recovery coming along smoothly? When does she start chemo?

Again, that's good news!

You and your fam are in my prayers bro. I've gone it with both parents now, so I understand what you're going through...although everyone's experience is different I suppose. Take care man.

My prayers go out to you. How long has she been in the hospital? How often do you visit her and how do you deal with it?

I hope the best for you mom too bro. My mom just had double thyroidectomy for thyroid cancer, and is still in the hospital. So we're going through the same thing too.

I always donate every year to cancer research. It's so important we all keep do what we can to one day rid society of this disease. If they find a cure in my lifetime, you know i'll be dancing in the streets for it.

-= nav =-
Will be praying for both of you guys moms.

Sing a song, write a prayer....
All the words are in the air...
Through night and day, we will hear..
Our thoughts go out, with you in fear...Quez

So far so good. She has to carry around this chemo pump 24/7 which is very inconvenient and can get heavy at times but so far no side effects.

Notice: Sticky comes down on 7/5.

Prayers to your mom Ffactor.
