Today I had a basketball game and then went to hit some back after the game. Typically I don't play ball anymore, but I joined my friends team to be nice. I usually go to the gym before the games as well. But not today.
Basically we play, lose by 10, I go to the gym. Having a pretty good start, feeling it in the muscles already cause I am already a little fatigued. I come up to my 3rd exercise, T-bar rows. My gym has a t-bar row, where you get on a platform and pick up the machine and row it. I have always hated this machine, why I did it today, I haven't a fucking clue. My 2nd set, I have 3 plates on it. The weight was light, but for some dumb ass reason I strapped my hands around the handles. Again I hate this machine, so as I put the bar down, I guess I forgot that I was strapped in or lost balance, and I go flying over the machine and land on my face. I fell so fast, the wrist straps tore in half, still connected to the handles.
A guy comes over and asks if I am alright, and all I can think of is what the fuck did I just do. I remember sitting the weight down and then moving really fast and hitting the ground. I get up on my knees and then blood starts to trickle out of my nose.
End result - a real bad chest burn from the floor, and a broken nose I think. At least the nose isn't crooked, but it is a little swollen, and I can still get blood if I stick a kleenex up my nostril. Also looks like I have some zits on my forehead, but instead it is swelling and a few tiny cuts from the rubber mats on the floor, as well as a minor headache. I think I was actually pretty lucky, but its still a little scary that that happened.
Anyone else ever break their nose while working out.
