Today I had a basketball game and then went to hit some back after the game. Typically I don't play ball anymore, but I joined my friends team to be nice. I usually go to the gym before the games as well. But not today.

Basically we play, lose by 10, I go to the gym. Having a pretty good start, feeling it in the muscles already cause I am already a little fatigued. I come up to my 3rd exercise, T-bar rows. My gym has a t-bar row, where you get on a platform and pick up the machine and row it. I have always hated this machine, why I did it today, I haven't a fucking clue. My 2nd set, I have 3 plates on it. The weight was light, but for some dumb ass reason I strapped my hands around the handles. Again I hate this machine, so as I put the bar down, I guess I forgot that I was strapped in or lost balance, and I go flying over the machine and land on my face. I fell so fast, the wrist straps tore in half, still connected to the handles.

A guy comes over and asks if I am alright, and all I can think of is what the fuck did I just do. I remember sitting the weight down and then moving really fast and hitting the ground. I get up on my knees and then blood starts to trickle out of my nose.

End result - a real bad chest burn from the floor, and a broken nose I think. At least the nose isn't crooked, but it is a little swollen, and I can still get blood if I stick a kleenex up my nostril. Also looks like I have some zits on my forehead, but instead it is swelling and a few tiny cuts from the rubber mats on the floor, as well as a minor headache. I think I was actually pretty lucky, but its still a little scary that that happened.

Anyone else ever break their nose while working out.
 
Thats messed up I bet you when you left the people in the gym were laughing there asses off. You got lucky it could have been alot worse. Broke my nose 4 times never lifting 3 fighting the other I ran into a telephone pole playing street football.

I have hit myself in the head and the chest while doing that excerise. It was quite embarrasing
 
To make u feel better i got a funny story of my own:

When i first started training 9 years ago; on my first day the first excercise i had was bench press. I put on a weight that was obviously too heavy for me And went for it without a spotter. As soon as i lift the weight of the rack it falls onto my chest - It's a good thing I didn't get decapitated. I stayed like that for a good couple of minutes - Finally i realized that I didn't have any clips on so I slid the weights of one side of the bar, then the other. It made a loud clunk noise so Everybody in the Gym just realised what happened; It's a good thing at that time there were no assholes in the gym, on the contrary a guy came up and offered his help and told me anytime I need a spot just to call him.
 
that reminds me of a guy who graduated with my younger brother. first off, he is ignorant and started using gear at 16... well anyways, a guy was handing him dumbells because he was about to do dumbell decline press. He was using 65 or 70's I think, and the kid handing him the dumbell droped it on his face. Needless to say it spit is cheek bone area open and had to get some stitches. He droppedit because he was holding the "bell" part of the dumbell and the weight made it begin to unscrew and the momentum just pulled it out of his hands onto his face. lol so lesson learned is to get an experienced spotter. haha..

If the machine does not have a chest pad,

It is great for the back and I love it, my favorite back exercise,

I have torn a few things in the gym but never broke a nose?
 
my friend went to do lat pulldowns and the pin wasn't all the way in the weights, he really leaned into it to get the weight down and the pin popped out, bar came down REAL easy and he went flying backwards.. it was pretty funny
 
You guys ever tried to do tricep pushdowns with the lat bar, you take out the pin and the bar comes crashing down on your head? Me niether.

hahaha thats awesome. One time I was putting the 80's back and I was so fatigued one slipped and landed on my finger nail, MAN that hurt. Almost walked out of the gym in tears.
 
I used to manage a PowerHouse so I've seen it all. The funniest thing I ever saw was a kid about 16 running on a treadmill. This kid was so uncooridinated. He was at the stage in his life that we all hit where our body grows, but we aren't coordinated enough to handle it. Anyway he's running right in front of me and all of a sudden his legs go out underneath him! Bam! Homeboy falls flat on his stomach and face! The fucking Treadmill shoots him off, but not before spinning him sideways! I was on the floor laughing. Then I picked my self up and went over to help him out. He was embarrassed as hell since it was when I was in college and there was always hot ass in the gym.
