Quantum physics to me. I went to see the play Copenhagen last night the whole first hour was rather heavy cause my knowledge of quantum physics is nil. I am hoping an explanation will of quantum physics will give me this hour of my life back.

Quantum physics is what they came up with when they finally realized that they really didnt know what the fuck was going on at the atomic scale....

Its a best guess based on observation of secondary effects.


Sort of like saying ghost are holding blow dryers to wet paint because it eventually dries...

you cant SEE the ghosts.. you can prove they are there with enough crazy math and the paint DOES dry right? well it must be the ghosts then.

Quantum physics is sort of like that.

Quantum physics is a theoretical explanation to the motion, interaction, and makeup of atoms. It is a way to predict the response of atoms of different makeup in different situations without being able to actually see what is going on. For example why do metal atoms bind together by "sharing" electrons while salts and metals (NaCl or table salt) bond together by attractive forces (like all the guys here staring uncontrolably at your avatar) that can't be totally explained but exest none the less.
