Seriously though, lysine has been shown to work well for preventing breakouts. it's an amino acid. And fuck NO, you cant have a kiss!!! I dont want that shit.

Isn't herpes outbreaks related in some way to high levels of stress hormone cortisol? AAS diminish this hormone, maybe that is the relation, if any.

kidding bout the kiss JA but I hear bulldog wants your pickle. Anyway I was saying that I havent had any breakouts in some time...even off cycle and yes I take lysine I take a full range of aminos so all is good just wondering if the aas is keeping my herps from coming out?

Maybe you're cured. j/k...I dont think aas helps since it's suppresses the immune system and its ability to fight off viruses. Herpes is a virus so logic would follow that the chances of getting a breakout increase while on aas, even more so afterwards when the body is in a suppressed state. Now, this is pure speculation but the theory makes sense to me and that's all that matters.

well, i hope you only have type 1 herpes...because gential herpes would probably suck....anyway, long term use of roids can lower your immune system.....hence perhaps causing a herpes outbreak.

JA you are right that herpes (i assume we are talking herpes simplex, yes? the one on the face/lips?) is an opportunistic virus, but that doesnt neccessarily mean that it will flare up when the immune system is supressed, because a number of other body processes/things are bolstered by aas.

the point about wellbeing is actually a fair point, and it may be a major contributor.

also, cortisol itself wont bring out a flare up; cortisol is usually secondary to stress (trust me, i just had a run in with my doctor becuase of cortisol, and he wanted to do a corticosteroid supression test without first asking if i was particularly stressed and/or training hard...the dummie)

sooooo the aas might contribute to a lack of flare ups, or it might be coincidence. if it IS the aas, we can postulate that a number of things are contributing to this greater resistence, those being: more muscle/healthier body in general, less stress/more happiness, and all the other changed in body chemsitry brought on by supplementing a fairly large dose of an exogenous hormone.
