Pistol by the bed.

Who has a pistol within reach of your bed? I have 2 Glock 19's under my mattress and and P10 .45 in my nightstand! My wife is packing on her side too!!!!!

Are you the sort of person who wakes up quickly? Do you wake up "clean," aware of where you are and what's going on? Or do you have to go "Uh? Wha?" for a minute or two? This is an area where "KNOW THYSELF" matters.

Knew a guy once, long time ago, lost touch with him... couple of years later, a mutual friend told me that he had put a 9mm right through his fiancee's breast one night... because he woke up going "Uhh? Wha?!" and fired before he remembered he wasn't alone.

She lived, she even went ahead with the wedding... but damn, how many stories like that do we have to hear before we get with the program?

You need a hand free for a Surefire or a Streamlight. Better to have one Glock and a light than two Glocks and no light.

Hell, feel around a pitch-black room for five or ten minutes and then have your wife hit you full in the face with a Surefire. It's like getting surprised with a baseball bat.

I am the wide awake type. I even answer the phone out of a dead sleep like it's the middle of the day. My dad was a cop before I was born and taught me to live on yellow! We also leave lamps on throughout the house so lighting isn't an issue. I have always carried guns and have my permit to carry.

I have an sp101 within reach, but diggers point is very valid. I also have a very bright little flashlight at hand. I believe these are the last line of defense though. Between dogs, alarm system, motion sensors, I think an unannounced intruder would be a rare event.

Pistols are for fighting your way to a real weapon.

I have a COLT .45 in my nightstand, SKS under the edge of my side of the bed, and an old 12ga. pump behind my door. The rest are locked up.

glock 27 by the bed. love that little fucker.

used to have an ak clone with a full clip in the closet...i soon realized that an ak with a 30 round clip isn't a firearm of choice while living in an apartment...lol

One in by the bed (with bed between room and door)

one in the basement

One in the garage

one in the guest bedroom..

all loaded.. if you see a gun in my house, you should assume it is loaded..

I use Fed 125gr. as they will penetrate well but are less likely to exit the house. I have not seen any coroner reports on a Glazer induced death.

I used to live in an area where I kept different guns close at hand depending on where the threat was most likely to be. I live better now and don't feel the need.

I used to have a 38 special snubnose. I loved that gun, it was dead accurate. It was stolen. Now I keep a modest 12 gauge with an 18' barrel, pistol grip and 7 rounds next to the bed. The best part is, you don't have to aim when you have sleep in your eyes, just point and shoot.

Prsently a Glock 30 on my nightstand resting on my Bible, and a Glock 34 with a Insight M3 (130 lumens) attached, in a duffel bag next to my nightstand with spare 33 rd clips. Both sidearms have loaded clips in them, with empty chambers.

I have a glock 20 sitting in the closet within reach if I jumped out of bed, I live with to many peeps to leave it sitting in the open .....

Stupidest thing I ever did was sell my Colt Cobra. A J-frame just isn't in the same class.
It was stolen.
Oh, MAN. That sucks.

Nice and versatile, lots of different loads to play with... but the time to sort them out is now, not when some hyped-up freak has put his boot through your bedroom door.

Do you know how wide the pattern is at eight feet, ten feet, twelve feet? (Couple of inches, maybe?) I hope you take your little friend out for dinner (a big handful of shells) and a dance regularly, 'cause it would really suck to find out that you can indeed miss a target that's on the other side of the room -- if you don't aim.
