pin press question

im gonna start doing pin presses as a ME movement.
Question is- do i unrack the weight , or do I start with the weight on the pins
 
Why start with the weight on the pins?

Do you start your bench with the bar on your chest?

I would unrack, but thats just me.
 
start with the weight on the pins. no reason to unrack to weight for pin presses. if you unrack your wasting your energy. becuase when you bring it down to the pins, you have to let it test so theres no bounce anyways, and when you bring it down, the bar might move around into a bad position to press in.
 
Forgive me if I misunderstood , I thought that "pin presses" were a substitute for board presses.

It sounds to me like WE are talking about "rack lockouts" in which case you would start from the bottom.
