Ok so in addition to my clean diet, weight lifting and hiit cardio, I was thinking of doing a pilates workout 3 times a week. What do you girls think? Mind you I am currently cutting and trying to lose at least 45 lbs. So would doing workouts like that help or hurt? Just curious about you Goddesses think.

Pilates is a great type of exercise.. Great for your core!! I did this for a semester last year and could really feel the strength I gained to my connective tissues in my lower back and stomach... I have had back problems for years so this was good for me.. But don't over do it.. Pilates is just like weight training except you are using your own body weight as the resistance.. But again mostly targeting on your core...

i love it!!! my stomach is so strong from it. i do it 2x p/w and really notice a difference. it also helps w posture and breathing

I do Pilates at home a couple times a week at home. I really like it for the "stretch" feeling, although it is harder than it looks to do. I think it's a good addition to your training regimen.

Very cool I will definitely start doing pilates then. Thanks ladies. I hope maybe it would help to tighten the mid section up as well as provided the added core strength. Thanks.

Diet is what will "tighten up your midsection" but the pilates will give your whole body a longer leaner look in general. And building your core strength is something that will serve you for life. If you follow only bodybuilding type weight lifting, I think you tend to ignore your core strength which opens you up to the chance for lower back problems as you start lifting serioiusly heavy stuff. A strong ab - back is the most powerful thing you can do for yourself IMO.

i have a very clean diet and i still think that my mid-section (hips) r my probelm area - not fat - but i dont have visible abs. I only got that when I weighed 48kg - waaaaaaay to underweight

All in due time lols. Just be patient and besides we always tend to think our "problem areas" are worse than they really are. AND......I have officially added my pilates set to my workout. 3 days a week should be kicking some ass so we'll see. Thanks ladies for all the info.
