I know exctly what your asking because I had the same problem. My gear fell out while I was going down the interstate. I called a mechanic. They picked up the gear and towed the car at the same time. If I remember right they just used their hands for picking up the gear and putting it back into the transmission. Car runs great now. So take my advice and let a reputable mechanic to fix it.

This is the second post I've seen like this today. Just a little advice for all the newbies. Spend a little time on the board and read all the posts. This will give you all the information you need plus save you alot of embarrassment and a lot of flaming. I've been on this board for almost a year and I only have less than 45 posts. You can get a lot of useful information if you just sit back and watch a little. Just a little helpful advice.

this is my first time on a discussion board, can somebody answer my post to tell me if I'm doing this right!

from this comprehensive question, i'd say u were doing it right ( having said that i dont normally encourage it), although a few people ive talked to say ur doing it all wrong, and one expert went as far as to say that u should stop immediately and consult a doctor ( i respect this guy but he does tend to panic sometimes).

if i were u i'd double the amount of k-y jelly ur using and try it standing up. i've only done this with girls so im not so sure if it works equally well for guys.

ps oh and y not try muffling ur whimpers with a pillow
