Pic Question

Hey. I tried and tried to post me on my avatar but it kept saying too big. My camera is 500pix. Even a plain arm shot in front of a white wall wont take. I used my wifes cell phone but we cant figure on how to load on computer. The camera came with software we loaded. We have the new slimline from motorola but it did not come w' software. But the camera is showing the pictures or pixels will be too big also. Do i have to buy a real cheap low pixel camers or what. Help is appreciated.

its probably the format that the picture is in. digi cams usually take pictues and store them as a high quality format. if you have photoshop or another image program, use it to crop the image and change the format so the picture takes less space

Hey i appreciate the response. Im gonna have to let my wife look this over when she gets home in a bit. Shrinking? I should take a pic from far away from me then shrink to just me? I wanted to put some full pics in my profile and the some on post pics for my 2 and a half year progress. Whats crazy is we have lots of pics on computer with our camera. they all are too big it says. But thing is my wife took pictures in Vegas with all kinds of background and cars and stuff with a different camera from her work. They will work. My picture of just my arm in front of a white wall is too big? I know its the pixels or something. I might can see if she can get that same camera but what about all the before pics? Can i maybe try to print the picture then rescan to computer. But would it be the samesize or would that take out some pixels?
