Pharmaceutical sales rep

One of my buddies will be applying to be a pharmaceutical sales rep for a large company. I was wanting to know if anyone here knows if he would be denied the job if he tested positive for steroids even if he had a prescription for testosterone and deca? - cbeaks

Even in the unlikely event that they tested him for gear (almost no chance of that happening anyway) he could always say that he was on test and deca as per his doctor, voila, problem solved.

It will depend on the drugs they sell,if it is a company that sells pain killers like oxycontin,perks and the like they might test for narcotic pain killers,if they sell anabolics they might test for that.It could be them worrying about what they sell being abused by the reps.

thanks for the replies but I am pretty sure there are people on this board that either have this kind of job or know someone who does. The company I am talking about is Eli Lilly. He is gonna get off of roids 4 months before being tested but he is just curious if he should even bother coming off since he has a script. - cbeaks

well usually when they let u fill out forms for a job they'll ask a question if he's on any kind of medication..

there he can write he's on TEST..
and done...

by this do you mean that he won't be considered for the job because of it? - cbeaks

I wouldn't sweat it. If he has a perscrip then all he has to do is write it down that he's on test. I had a job interview and I was on andriol all they asked me what medication i was on , I told them and that was it. Got my call 2 days later saying you start on monday.
