Pet Roll Call!!

New member
what pets do you have?

1 hedgehog, 1 hamster, and maybe a pet snake.

what pets do you people have?

nada right now :(

I'd adopt a kitty if my building allowed pets

i really wanted to replace my dog after the ex took him, but i think a dog is better when you have more than 1 person taking care of it. i'd hate to leave it alone most of the time. maybe if i had alot of disposable money for good doggy day care

Are hedgehogs good pets?
Do they have dander (I'm allergic)?
Can they do anything like play fetch?
Are they potty trainable?
They look cool.

You maybe have a pet snake?!?

hedgehogs are a lot like spiny hamsters.

they are small rodent-like creatures, who are active at night, and easy to maintain.

i have yet to hear of anyone who is allergic to hedgehogs...they don't have dander and they don't really shed. they are capable of being potty trained by scooping any poop in their cage and putting it in a litter box (which is also in their cage). it takes a few weeks, but it does happen.

make sure you just don't buy one. make sure you actually go handle it and see how it responds to you.

3 cats who were all strays. Well one I kidnapped from an abusive loser
When I get a bigger place, I'll adopt a few dogs

E.D. (pronounced Eadie, like E.D. Hill on Fox) female Brussels Griffon
Vivian Colleen Cottonswab (Cotton) female Brusels/ chihuahua mix, I thought that I was watching E.D. while she was in heat, evidently not close enough. :-)
3 cats, two are huge manx and a Sylvester looking cat, Pharoe, Puzzle and Kitty Hockey (when we first got him I was staying at my then girlfriends, there was all kinds of racket comming from the kitchen in the middle of the night, I asked her "what is THAT", she answered "it's kitty hockey" since our son plays hockey, the damn cat had some decorative plastic eggs and was batting them all around the damn kitchen, the name stuck)
I also have a big football field size warehouse, there are probably 20 or so cats we feed, most very wild, if you want to count those, but their not really pets.

The family pets, at my parent's place, are . . .

3 dogs (2 are brothers and we couldn't break the set)
&
1 kitteh.

All were rescues.

i play hide the hamster

is that when you put the tube in your arse and let the hamster crawl down it?
is it good?
you would be correct and yes it is good..you have to declaw first though

1 indoor cat
1 outdoor cat

my dog from my college days that took up residence with my father passed a several weeks ago :(

I have one: a grumpy old man. He came pre-trained and everything... still he does require a wrap on the nose with a rolled up newspaper every now and again old dog that he is.

I would love to have another kitty like my Miss Kitty Kat... but the old grump is deathly allergic so that ain't gonna happen. I don't want the hassle of a dog. We don't have enough property for big dogs and the grump won't have a small one and I am not into the dedication to have a dog to myself.

When my girls come we will reassess the pet situation but I don't see much changing until we move which won't be for awhile.

I'd like the freedom to travel with my family and you can't do that if you have pets.

See the little fellow in my avatar? I took that picture when he was a kitten, on the first day he went outside to prowl on his own. It was a big wide wonderful new world for him, full of small fuzzy things to kill and eat.

He's 13 years old now, and still thinks he's a kitten.

I had THE COOLEST kat on the planet. Her name was "The Very Pretty Miss Kitty Kat" (or Miss Kitty for short). She was the shit. Never had an issue with her. She was a sassy mofo... and though I really detest cats - my girls and I LOVED HER TO DEATH. <--- that has got to say a lot for her.

My ex made her *disappear*. :worried:

I wish we could have another, but as I said, the Old Grump is deathly allergic so... no kitties here.

24 years? That's excellent! I hope she was as contented as my buddy Clyde.

She became deaf and lost all her teeth, but she still went out in the yard and ate steak bones until the end.
She had a great character.

this was her a yr before she passed. She was laying out in the leaves I just raked

That is one cute puppy bro!

Thanks bro, I have had a Rott, Lab and a golden retriver... This little guy is the most loyal, loving dog I have ever seen/had. He is at my side 24/7, does not need a leash he stays right with me. His only issue is he hates other dogs.

had 2 rotts and I had a little puppy show up one day at the back door, the rotts were looking at him I bet they were hinking well this ain't no bunny so we better be nice. The little guy was thinking he was a tiger, he snapped growled and postured. The rotts just said, ok what a putz. A couple years later if anyone came close to the rotts the little guy would bark grown and be the protector, he was some mixed rat dog and never got over 4 lbs. Was kinda funny. Looked like 2 yr old trying to protect Arnold.

Gotta love dogs.

Hey monkey don't go there with the dog and woman thing! I will have to call 611 and report you!

To my knowledge the Old Grump has never shot any of his women for biting/snarling when he went for their food dish.

Far as I know, the women walked away with some mad bank and the dogs well, they didn't. :whatever:

Nope lol, he has never bitten anyone. Both my dogs are very well behaved for being so small.

I was sitting another dog for a friend which was a puppy cocker. I was trying to get them to fight cause Rocco acts all tuff. He got owned within 3 seconds I had to pull the other dog off him. He is actually the biggest pussy dog I have ever seen. Acts tuff, but runs from ants.
