I don't like Bompa.....neither do most.
Periodization is good but not the way he has outlined it. He has more of a structural periodization: each step builds on to the next.
What he ignores is that neural efficiency is lost if you do certain routines for 3-4 months at a time.
Ex: While you do your conditioning phase you may actually lose strength and hypertrophy.
Most people prefer microcycles or shortened macrocycles lastin 3-4 weeks.
WS is the perfect example of a microcycle.
