Maybe go back and get a Master's. This is the reason I chose Nursing, recession proof and if I don't like who I work with, I can just leave and go somewhere else. I hate being stuck working with jerks.

Econ what? Just general Econ degree? You missed the easy boat by about four-five years! Stick with the temp get your foot in somewhere! If you get sick of Top Rama make some cash with construction! But I would stick with looking for the career with the Econ degree! Your better off in the long run to suck it up for now!

What have you done to get a job thus far. Are you being pro-active and approaching companies and individuals directly. I've always found that the direct approach is best. Waiting for ads to appear in the paper and going through recruitment firms will get you nowhere, particularly in tough economic times.

What field do you want to get into.

A masters degree won't help you. Companies that put you on will do so as a graduate.....without any practical work experience you are not much value initially anyway, they will need to train you, therefore a masters degree is worthless at this stage.

Thanks for correcting my bad advice.

go back and get a secondary education certification in economics/social studies/psychology. prolly only need about 4 semesters. Three best reasons to teach are JUNE JULY and AUGUST

Sorry dude but that is what a degree is supposed to be. My friend has significantly more computer programming experience than me and has had a hell of a time finding a job and now finally found a shitty one with a 2 hr commute both ways. I'm finishing school this semester and if I didn't already have a job I'd be fucked.

vinylgroover's advice sounds solid. I will double-agree with him on the uselessness of a Masters at this point. Experience > Education any day of the week. You've already got some education and now you need experience. Get a job that will put food on the table and use as much of your spare time as you can to find a position related to your degree.

and stuff

Seriously a BA in Econ. -- Want fries with that.... Go get either an MA, PHD in Econ or an MBA because you are waisting your time otherwise
