Not trying to talk shit, Because your state kicks out some HOTTIES!!! Buy why do you all Incorporate Texas or TX in to your screen names...no other state represents quite like ya'll

Well since I first got on the web back in the early 90's I've used Tex or TX in some way in my names

I'm from Texas, we have the most diverse population in the U.S. according to Census stats, There is lots to do and I'm proud of my state and wish all to know where I'm from.

I live in Tx. and I have never incorporated it into my name. I think it is mainly a male thing.

Star

I'm in TX, but do you TX anywhere near my name. No you do not
For real though I read somewhere that people from any other state when out of the country will say they are from the U.S. when asked. Then people from Tx will say we are from Texas when asked.
Kinda wierd I don't really understand, but page me later we will talk about it ok.

Well Texas was its own country for a few years. We fought for independence from another country and the United States at the time didn't help to much. Heck we even had our own White House. Also according to the law we still have the right to susceed from the union. I suppose long time Texans just have not gotten over it all yet.

BTW I am a Texan that has seen the world and I do know there are other places than here. It is just here is home.

Actually the Civil War Set up Texas rather nicely for the Economic gains we have had in Ag, and Jobs requiring labor. Our Neighbors to the south were more then willing to help out after the war.

To All OTT

Take every comment from these Texans seriously,
VERY SERIOUSLY. Tejas Hombres well said.....you really can't say too much more.....because they will never understand unless we adopt some of them for a while.:D :D ;) :mix:

JohnnyO, uh....raise your resolution. 1600x1200 or higher.

What have I told you about your DVD of the week?... Titles, man... titles!!!

Ok, look, if you start putting titles, I promise I'll rent your DVD of the week every week unless a) I've seen it already, b) I heard bad things about it from a reputable source (friend), or c) I don't feel like renting a movie for some reason.

Isn't that a good deal? Come on now... work with me man :)

WELL, IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT THE CIVIL WAR, YOU LOST THAT ONE.

Also according to the law we still have the right to susceed from the union.

SO WHY DON'T YOU TRY AGAIN?

I suppose long time Texans just have not gotten over it all yet.

YEP, AN ASS KICKING GOES A LONG WAY. LEAVES A BITTER TASTE IN YOUR MOUTH.

BTW I am a Texan that has seen the world and I do know there are other places than here. It is just here is home.

IS THERE ANY CHANCE YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR MIND. I SAW SOME PICS OF YOU AND DAMN LET'S GET TOGETHER AND REPRODUCE.

Maybe you didn't know this but Texas didn't get it's ass kicked from the war. We were probably the only state that walked away in good shape. Our Economic infrastructure was better shape after the war. We didn't have to rely on slave labor as much as other southern states...We had and still have friends in Mexico that provided better labor

and maybe you didn't notice that the north wasn't fighting the south to ruin them economically. texas was on the confederate side. the union kicked the conferdate's ass as a whole.

texas=losing side=loser of the war

It's well known who won the war. Big deal, still doesn't change my opinion that your fellow New yorkers as a whole are dickheads. If it wasn't for economics why did the north fight the south??

Because the south according to my high school teacher and 2 college professor and 1 english professor who loved civil war stuff said the same exact thing, "The South didn't like being told what do by the north, and wanted to do things on their own." Slavery was one of the issues.

One thing I learned is, "Never ever fuck with the USA Federal Gov't on any level."

I have nothing against Texas!!!!! It's just it seems that people from Texas have pride in state and then pride in country. I have pride in country first. I think according to the Bible, pride is a sin. Maybe it is. I bet pride had a lot to do with the civil war.

Hello!!! I am not talking about that war! I am talking about the war when Texas fought for it's independence from Mexico. Back when Texas was referred as Tejas.
REMEMBER GOLIAD!! REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!

As far as the civil war is concerned I personally think it was an awful time for the US as a whole.

Some of you yankee guys are kinda cute!

:D

It would be nice if we were still our own damn country.

Yeah then you could get no federal funding for highways, have no military, have nothing, you would have nothing. What a stupid statement. Hell I bet then you would even lose to an invasion by mexico.
That was the stupidest post I've ever seen.

I am putting you on ignore. You post nothing I want to read anyway!

Have a nice day.

Texas pride is a beautiful thing. I'm not saying go join a cult and change everything over to A&M colors - but there is something nice about pride.

You've got to respect that.

lol...there is an Aggie or two on the board, though I think their colors are nice, UT or is it TU could tone down the burnt orange a bit lol...There is a local country artist who sang a song about a Longhorn and an Aggie getting married, and they pestered their kid to go to their respective colleges...Well that child went and tried both and told them to hell with that and Came to Southwest Texas....If all Else Fails be a bobcat :)

I'm from Tx. and I'm an Aggie. and I don't incorporate that into my name. I think that's all a personal preference.

I spent the first 20 years of my life in Texas. 18 of those north of Dallas. 3 years in Lubbock, TexasSpent a few months living and working in Geneva, New York. . I thought what I wanted was culture, so I went to live in northern California. Still here. I love the beauty and multiculturalism of this area. I love that they are environmentally concious and I love that they embrace weed. Anything goes here. Then again, sometimes it is hard to deal with. Where I grew up, we didn't even really lock our doors. We went to church. Sat through every single sporting event rain, shine, ice, tornados didn't matter. Why because we have pride. Maybe having pride without heart is the real sin. Maybe taking pride in doing the right thing because you care is o.k. If pride causes you to turn down an opportunity because you thinks it is below you then pride was a sin. I take pride in knowing that people from Texas have a lot of heart and spirit and pride in there state. Ignorance on the other hand should never be celebrated and ignorance is everywhere. Go Cowboys!!!!

Lived in Huntsville for 7 years, then Austin, then Lubbock (shit hole), and now back to Austin. Btw, I go to UT, hate burnt oarnge, and love both my state and my country.
