Just want to make sure the drawing makes sense, as well as the description, make sure I'm not leaving anything out.

1) Start with bar on ground, upper body absolutely parallel to ground from the hips to the shoulders

2) Start with lower back tight and straight, upper back slightly rounded forward

3) Chalk up and grab bar a few inches outside of shoulder width.

4) Do 3 things at once
----a) Accelerate bar from floor toward upper abdomen
----b) Arch upper back by contracting lats (i.e. stick your titties out, like a female model does)
----c) Do NOT stand up at all, lower back and hips should be still, knees should not extend, hips should not extend

See attached "drawing" for representation of the "key points" of keeping lower back parallel and arching only the upper back starting with the lower lats.

ahhhh, now i get it...

you shouldn't quit your day job though, if you plan to do any artist work... ;)

that clears it up though... i guess i wasn't sure about the arch, and i was thinking of rounding the back...

Yeah - that's good. It's sometimes hard to explain or put into words what you need. We all have our mental keys but sometimes if you tell someone the thoughts you use to get in the right position, from their relative standpoint it screws them up completely.

i tired these out at the gym today with 145lbs just to try and nail the form... it felt pretty good...

i went for 8 reps on each set, just to get the repetitions...

i'm going to try and get the power clean form down this week or next and then decide which one i want to incorporate into my 5x5...
