Anyone played this game Nexuiz? It's a free open-source first person shooter that runs on Windows, Linux and OSX. I'm not much of a gamer but I figured I'd give it a shot, since I don't have to pay for it.

I played Quake years ago but I never got used to navigating with a keyboard and I'm not serious enough to need a gamepad.

If you dig strategy, I've heard alot of good things about Empire: Total War.

Looks like id Tech 3 stuff. They probably got some ideas for their game from it. Too bad Quake Live is out now, hopefully these devs can get their game some decent exposure.

It does have a Doom/Quake look to it. Graphics looks pretty rough from the video. I'll stick with TF2

It's a Quake engine. The video is terrible; probably not accelerated. I have it installed and it's looks pretty damn good for a freebie. I don't even have the full monty graphics enabled.

interesting how we're already starting to see them move away from hardware acceleration. Yeah it'll take awhile before cloud software based games eclipse tradtional hardware accelerated games in terms of graphics, but it's interesting to see the seperation already starting.
