PBR and Assassins!!!!

I have a real dilemma here!!

The '06 CBR1000's are kick ass beyond comprehension and I can order one but I would have to wait probably 'till spring to pick it up and start my mods and upgrades.

OR

I can pick up an '05 in January and start all my mods and have 'em finished by the time spring rolls around and hit the street running!

AAAAAHHHHHH!!! I'm pulling out my hair trying to make a decision! What should I do???

The '06 is supposed to have some refinements done to it, but nothing major. It would be a tough call for me as well. Check out the forums at www.cbrworld.net. There is some good info there and it's a great site regardless.

The changes are subtle cosmetically but they make ALL the difference in the way it looks! Plus it's supposed to be lighter and have more ponys.

Check it out.

Sweet bike I dig the swing arm. What kind of mods are you needing to make?

PBR's gonna help me with most of it but things we've talked about so far are things like weight reduction, exhaust, & sprockets.

Aren't these new bike basically "works" or "superbikes" already. I can understand the sprocket for wheelies but I with the hp and weight numbers on these new litre bikes they are like hayabusas motors in a 600's frame and weight.

Sure but can you really ever be satisfied with an "out of the box" bike?? Not me. I may even add NOS down the road.

I think I will be satisfied for a little while with k6 gsxr 1000 since it will be the first litre bike I would own and ride. I just hope it wheelies as good as my 02' 750 which I really like and think I am going to keep even when I get the 1000.

NOS on a sport bike would be cool. I am scared to use it on my chopper very much those damn motors cost too much.

I hear ya!

I can only imagine what NOS on a litre bike will be like! I used to run it on my street race cars. Fun shit!

Stick what have you heard on the handling of the 05' gsxr 1000? Good report bad reports and how does it wheelie anything you know would be helpful.

Rarley have I heard anything bad about the gixxers. I've always liked Honda's handling over anything out there, but I wouldn't kick a gixxer out of bed if you know what I mean. They wheelie just fine. Ooodles of power so it's no problem.

Wait for the 06.

Curling, all modern 600's and up can wheelie.

True dat!! However i did find I had a bit of difficulty pulling the front end up on the '05 CBR600 F4i due to my body weight.

Damnit Curling....

The k5 1000 was hands down the best liter bike in 05. Amazing power delivery(They say there are no weak spots in the power band, pulls from low RPm to redline smooth and linear.)

They say it has great stablity in the corners and handles exellent.

Its a liter bike, of course it wheelies, and should wheelie effortlessly.(sp).

Get the 05 1000 since there are no changes for 06 besides paint.

As much as I like the gixxers, I've always been a Honda man.

Honda has been playing catch-up for a while...

They lack the "excite" factor...

Usually have the most weight, and lowest HP. Dont get me wrong, I like honda's, but they really need to step it up.

I believe they really did with the new '06 1000RR. As I said earlier, the changes were subtle but I think it made all the difference.

No shootouts for a while.

My prediction? Wont be number 1.

I see it as:

Gixxer/kawi (will go both ways).
Honda.
Yamaha.

It should still be a great bike and have the typical honda characteristics such as:

Easy to ride.( could also be translated to "boring", matter of perspective)
Rock solid stability.
Best fit and finish.
Reliability.(Although not that big of a deal like in the past, besides kawi, the other 3 make reliable bikes).

I don't know about the Kawi. First off, have you seen it?? Ugly as sin! I have a buddy that works over at Kawi and says the 10 won't hold on to it's standings this year. We'll see.

I know Honda won't necessarily come in first but I have always been partial to how it handles in the corners and how nice the ride is. Kawi has always felt choppy to me.

They all have their strong and weak points. Probably couldn't technically go wrong either way but I think it just comes down to personal preference.

i rode one a few weeks ago...it does not fit me at all...if you are taller (im 5-11) it wont work...its got a small configuration for seating, bars gauges...if you are of slight build and a smaller framed rider it will be awesome...the guys who ride them in my group are very slight in build and around 5-8 to 5-9...its a small bike all the way around. power is off the chart tho, and it hits like a jet aircraft...

HONDA will rewrite the book this year...look for them to displace Suzuki on the podeums. Suzi is no slouch however, not to take anything away from them, but HONDA went off the track with their R&D and put lights on the bike to be street legal...watch.

Time will tell.

If it can beat the gixxer, the honda will be one insane machine(Since the gixxer already is).

Ut oh. I am 5'11" and weigh about 215 hopefully will get that to 195lb in about three weeks. Do you think it will be to small for me?

And when i say how it wheelies I mean how does it handle during the wheelie. I mean I have gotten my standups down for about a half mile now and my sitdowns maybe further and I wondered it handles well on one wheel. I mean my 750 is a wheelie machine.

Also if you think the bike is too small for me what would you recommend in its place. It has got to be tough to take alot of abuse. I probably wheelie around 40 to 60 times everytime I ride my bike now. I can't keep it down. One of these days I am going to be typing from a jail cell which is going to suck.

How fast did you take the gsxr pbr?

i just got back from the dealer....dropped my bike off to get new computer/speedo= Honda Recall so its free....owner just got back from show...he had the catalogs for the 06 Honda's.... the 1000RR's are @ 11,200.00 for the basic colors i posted in my earlier thread...no Race version color scheme has been released, he heard no word on a REPSOL Replica or anything of the sort....( he feels that the blu/yellow scheme will be the race version)...he said the changes were slight and nothing REAL MAJOR- this contradicts what is being said on the internet right now...The 1000RR will be in limited supply in Calif. my dealer is being alotted 14 1000RR's...its a 500.00 deposit- fully refundable. FEB 06 he will get 5 bikes...March he will get 9 more- thats it!!!!

Curling: all i can say is this...the 05 GSX-R 1000 is a small bike with a small wheel base= meaning short...i dont like that for wheelies....but thats me...IMO you will feel too big for the GSX-R...my friends who are my size and bigger ride the R1's...and can wheelie at will at any speed...the bike behaves well while inverted....i would say ride a GSX-R 1000 for sure before you buy one...at least go sit on it and spend a little time with it so you can get a feel for it...the bike swept most of the championships this year...but you have to remember those world class riders are very small guys....

This sucks! I'm on the phone with my local dealer right now and he's telling me that Alaska won't see these baddies 'till SPRING!!:redhot: And he told me Alaska is only getting allocated 5 for the year. 2 black, 1 red, 1 silver, & 1blue/yellow. I'm gonna have to go down on payday and put down my deposit. I don't want to wait any longer than I have to.

I'm jealous of your riding season down there. You get to ride ALL year and I get 4 months.:bawling:

PBR Should I look at an 04' GSXR 1000. How much hp does it have compared to the 05'? I heard alot of people like the 04' gsxr 1000.

Only when I am caught in it.

Last year, I got caught in a snow storm. talk about a bad day.

I try to avoid riding in the rain for safety reasons.(Not only does it rain, but people drive like morons in the rain, at least here in SOCAL).

Dude, you kill me with the simple questions.

Why dont you do 2 minutes of research?

Suzuki.com
gixxer.com
sportrider.com (for dyno's)

If you are looking for a used 04, get an R1 or hell even a zx10r(TRUE wheelie machine).

Well, I dont live along the beach.

Pretty far inland(still socal lol). And it snowed for 3 days straight, no joke.

Like I said, last winter was shitty.

That sucks! I lived in El Segundo so I never saw anything that resembled the white stuff.
