Paxil Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been on Paxil with my old med now for 5 months. It takes a while onany med to see if its going to fit into your daily program. Now the Paxil accentuated the effects of the old med so I take less of it and get the added benefits of the Paxil. Paxil has allowed me to stay a lot better focused and less distracted in situations so I would say that it has helped me. Not glad to be on another med but when it comes to quality of life..

if you must be on an anti-dep i strongly suggest you avoid paxil....it took me many months to get off this drug and trust me it was a fucking battle....do a search on brain shocks and you will see what i mean.....i would suggest you look into celexa or welburtin

Paxil has a direct effect on seratonin levels in the brain. Wellbutrin affrects norepinephrine levels. I have been taking 10 mg Paxil/day for anxiety and I was real lethargic as well. I told my doctor this and he gave me a script for methylphenidate (Ritalin), which helped tremendously. The lethargy with paxil sucks.:fro:

SSRI's are EVIL
This is a long ass post, I wrote this awhile back, read if you are on any SSRI's(paxil, celexa etc.)

Prozac like other modern anti-depressants belong to the SSRI class of drugs. SSRI means Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor.
SSRI’s are supposed to boost the serotonin in ones brain, they achieve this but at the expense of other brain chemicals and functions.
Scientists are actually not even fully sure of how or why SSRI’s affect Serotonin in the manner that they do.
Serotonin has been linked with mood, therefore elevated serotonin theoretically boosts your mood. But serotonin is involved with so many other brain and bodily functions that it’s mood "boosting" properties account for less than 2% of it’s total functions.
Many of it’s functions are still unknown.
Using SSRI’s is like burning down your house to light up a cigarette.
It makes no sense whatsoever and it does tons of damage in the process.

In the United States, prescriptions for SSRI’s average 100 million per year and growing. The third most prescribed medicine last year in the US was Zoloft, a Prozac clone.
Recent studies have shown that brain cells and nerve terminals shrivel and take on "corkscrew like shapes" when SSRI’s are administered. But what is striking about that, is it is almost identical to the side-effects of LSD. That peticular study was done at Jefferson Medical College and is only the tip of the Iceberg.

Some recent studies on the SSRI:

-A brain chemical called 5HIAA is low in arsonists, murderers, rapists and suicidal victims.
SSRI’s significantly lower 5HIAA.

-A number of experts, including Harvard psychiatrists have found that SSRI’s cause suicidal, murderous and aggressive urges with a normal moral conscience being suppressed.

-A landmark Canadian study proves that SSRI’s double the risk of breast cancer.

-SSRI’s excavate the Adrenal Glands causing Adrenal Exhaustion Syndrome (AES). AES leads to declining health. Many former SSRI users report fatigue as a long-term side effect.
Many people who were healthy prior to SSRI therapy are becoming diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

-Elevated levels of the hormone Cortisol are common in depression and stress. Yet one dose of an SSRI doubles Cortisol.

-Too much serotonin caused by SSRI’s create heart valve damage, blood vessel and also lung damage.

-Discontinuation of SSRI’s produces manic episodes in a percentage of the population, and extreme withdrawal symptoms rivaling those of hard drugs in also not uncommon.

There are more studies proving the negative effects surrounding the SSRI. The ones listed above are the most recent, and unfortunately their will definitely be more to come.

In 1997 a Kansas City youth, 13 year old Andrew Miller killed himself after taking Zoloft for only a week.
There are over 50,000 murders and suicides linked to SSRI usage yearly.
Many of these people who "snap" on SSRI’s had no history of violence or suicidal tendencies before using these drugs.
In fact, Dr. David Healy and other of his Harvard colleagues pointed out the SSRI-suicide link over a decade ago. But the FDA failed to act.
There are over 44,000 adverse reaction reports filed to the FDA about Prozac alone each year. The FDA has done nothing, proving itself to be a paper tiger.

Every year a new SSRI hits the market and seems to be stronger in Serotonin influence than the last, making it potentially more harmful. Since Prozac first came out, there have been 8 other SSRI’s introduced and all of them elevate Serotonin even more.

Elevated Serotonin is found in schizophrenia, autism, mental retardation and Alzheimer’s.
Eli Lilly, Prozacs manufacturer has been running full page newspaper ads and infomercialls, while on the other hand settling lawsuits and buying silence from victims families.
Thus allowing these pharmaceutical companies to maintain a clean image and sell more drugs.
I have to agree with Dr. Anne Tracy who once stated "These drugs have very serious physical side effects, as well as dangerous psychiatric side effects. To prevent further tragedy this medical research must be acknowledged and addressed in headline news without delay rather than remain buried in seldom read medical research documents as has been the case with other mind-altering medications, once thought to be safe, which were subsequently prohibited by law, i.e. LSD, PCP, cocaine etc."

Recently it has been theorized that SSRI’s damage the Pineal Gland, one of the most important pieces of the human brain.
The same Dr. Groendijik stated that SSRI’s inhibit REM activity forcing the fore-brain into seizures to produce dreams and sleep.
Brain damage in SSRI users is also strikingly similar to the brain damage of Ecstasy users. Also, 30-40% of synapses (what your mind and body uses to communicate) are eliminated. It is not established wether or not they even ever come back.
The last thing I would like to mention is SSRI induced hypoglycaemia.
"An increase in Serotonin produces insulin dropping sugar levels and chemically inducing hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar)."
This aswell as SSRI’s metabolism lowering affects may be why a lot of people also gain weight using anti-depressants.

How and why are these drugs continuing to be sold to the public? How and why aren’t these disturbing side-effects known to the public?

SSRI’s are very damaging drugs that all doctors and psychiatrists should think twice about prescribing, if at all.

Damn anxiety! I have been suffering from anxiety for about 5 years now, I'm 25. It started I believe from depression and my friend that took his own life, alot happened back then. My doctor told me that I was depressed, no shit, and that I had anxiety. So he put me on Paxil, the fucking wonder drug, capital B.S. I stayed on that for about 2 weeks until I couldn't take it anymore. That drug made me feel worse than the anxiety. I know, it takes time, but the way it made me feel was an indicator that this drug is crap. I still get anxiety attacks every once in a while in a public setting, an occasional panic attack. I ll tell yall the truth, IT IS ALL IN YOUR HEAD! I never thought I would say that but its true. I dont discount the serotonin issue, im sure thats true. But looking back now at the horror stories about paxil and coming off of it im sooooo glad i got off. Also I hate to tell go guys, (no shit) but steroids increase your anxiety level. So if your anxiety is that bad, you'd better sit yourself down and think about what is important, mental health and being able to sit in a restaurant and not freak out, our be jacked and get panic attacks. Im not lecturing, but being a sufferer of anxiety for a while, I feel like an expert. I personally would not take juice and ssri's, your defeating the purpose of the drug. But hey, im no doctor!!!!

Ive been dealing with GAD with extreme panic attacks and resulting depressions for a majority of my life. This hard to get off
reasoning disturbs me. If something has been controlling or even repressing anxiety and depression the coming of ANYTHING would be HELL-Want REAL HELL , try getting off long term benzodiazapam use. Makes the DTs look like a frat party Sat hangover. Anxiety disorder is complex and to think taking any one pill for a while and then get off and life is great is BS. For the blessed few maybe but then I would doubt the source of anxiety was chemical and rather exogenous. For most this might be a lifelong reality. I choose not to gamble away alot of my life and time on trhe belief that wo med it will eventually get better and then find 5 years have gone by and a im not better yet. Nothing is for everyone but it doesnt mean that those who potentially can be helped will be scared away by what they read on this board.
My thoughts.

go to health shop

buy inositol

take 10 tablets or more

feel better immediately

put SSRI's in bin

thank gary later

*doesn't work on everyone, but is just as effective as SSRI's
