Partial or X reps?

Anybody think that partial reps for the chest builds it better? I go as wide as I can on flat, incline, and decline bench. I also do flys first to fatigue my chest some, but I feel like my triceps and shoulders give out before my chest does. I was talking to this guy at the gym about it and he said I should try partial reps b/c it doesn't let your chest rest any.
I'm gonna try them, but what is everyone elses expierences with them?

Thanks

I am partial to full reps, partially speaking. I am also partial to functional muscles, not ones that work in a 3" ROM. Seems to work for me, but the genetic freaks we call the 'best' can grow just looking at weights....

The advantage of a partial rep would not be to build mass but to strengthen weaker areas. Powerlifters do this using the board press and the floor press.
There's probably several good strategies you could use, but I would back off going heavy and prioritize building up your tris and shoulders (and don't overlook your lats). Once they can handle the load your numbers should go up which will equate to larger chest.
Also, it may be worthwhile to experiment with your grip. Going wide can be hard on the shoulders for some. Finding a range that is most natural can give you better results.

Yeah like Coleman! I seen him working chest and all he did was partial reps.

Coleman didnt build his chest doing only partials, although you may have seen him doing some partials one workout.

It is historically the most efficient way to build muscle mass in muscles such as the chest, shoulders, and thighs. It causes occlusion in the muscle which leads to a much greater pump.

Arnold and Louie knew this too. Check out Lou working chest in Pumping Iron. Partials mixed with a couple of full reps. It's the same way Coleman and Cutler work out.
