pancakes for calories?

I read somewhere on here that they were good for calories, so I got out my pancake mix box, and my container of syrup and almost shit myself when I saw how many calories are to be had from pancakes.

unreal

an extra 2500 calories per day, just like that

throw in a couple of scoops of whey protein powder right into your mix and its perfect bulking food

There is a way to do this without adding so many empty calories:

- add a lot of oatmeal to the mix
- add extra egg whites and milk and even yogurt to the batter
- use fruit like blueberries, bananas and a bit of strawberry jam in the mix
- don't use syrup!

Good luck and get ready to feel very sleepy!

Cool, I'll wonder if IHOP uses a similar fromula in there pancakes. I bet they use the cheapest mix with the most fillers allowed by the FDA.Screw the customers nutritional needs, save money

I just use Hodgesons Mills Whole wheat pancake mix, throw some protein powder in the mix, and use sugar free syrup (10 cal. per 1/4 cup) good stuff!

i beleave that on a bulking cycle there is no such thing as empty calories, the more calories the better

I TOTALLY agree. It's hard to get 5,000 calories eating brown rice and grilled chicken breasts...

Hell yeah i eat pancakes when bulking. Taking in that many calories isn't easy. I just cook eggs w/ it and take a whey shake when i'm done and you'll have plenty of protein to go w/ the pancakes. And some fat if you use Maple syrup.

2 recipies for pancakes

1) Use pioneer brand lowfat pancake mix with an equal amount of vinilla protein powder and you can use a little sugar free jelly.

2) Use pioneer brand lowfat pancake mix with equal amount of tuna and one egg white.

Believe me serge - if you cook this in peanut oil you are getting a shitload of calories. I just don't believe in eating syrup, that's all.

I am bulking right now and don't mind eating the odd burger or chocolate but I don't think you need syrup on pancakes that are probably already giving you 1000 cals in one sitting.

chocolate chip pancakes with ice cream and whipped cream and hot fudge. that and a huge protein shake/and or some eggs. GOOD BULKING BREAKFAST!!!! :chomp:

I think the donut is another under appreciated offseason tool. Any who would like to take issue with this statement can take it up with me at the USA. I'll be in the 12th row 5th seat.(look for the guy with dairy queen cup). LOL! :D
