PaintBall

Yesterday I played indoor paintball. I had a great time. The layout of the arena was awesome. It had a van and some cars and motrocycles. There was a room with couches and a fridge. There was a catwalk. There was a basement with all kinds of good hiding places. My fav was the wooden barricades where you could hide behind, with little holes and stick your gun out off and if someone walked by BAM you could shoot em. Does anybody else play paintball?

I use to play tournament ball.... Much different... more competition less fun.

I play.

Gotta bunch of cool gear playing rec, and play tournies one year - but that burnt me out. Now I only go when a group of friends go.

I have played it a couple times and love it...I have to put some padding up top or my boobs bruise.

I love woodsball but kinda hate indoor ball. Indoor ball kinda sucks. Never played tournament but it really doesn't look that fun, seems more like who can put the most paint at the right place at the right time.

A real man would have welps on the front of his body. Sounds like you were tucking your tail and hauling ass running away

Those tournament paintball nerds with satellite uplinks and shit? I love those guys. 20 of us took on 4 professionals and we got mowed down like the Mai Lai Massacre.

i play occasionally... when i do, i kick ass.

I seriously would not fuck with you. You probably climb trees and/or wear a hat with foliage, lie dormant, and pop up from a foxhole you dug out and mow down an entire company.

Played indoors and out. Outside rules! Cars tipped on their sides, little fake town, a huge wooded area. On the indoor coarse, the floor was wet from them spraying it down from the group before us. I didn't know about it and when I ran out I slipped and broke a ball so my gun was jammed. Didn't know till I tried to shoot someone. Needless to say I got my ass handed to me.

My son has just developed paintball as an interest. He got a gun for Christmas. The gear we got him is not top of the line - since he just showed an interest we did not drop much money.

What would you all suggest to a 13 year old, whose parents are primarily funding his paintball? What is good gear to buy but that is reasonably priced? I guess there are guns that cost near a grand and that is out of the question.

What stuff is necessary and what is not?

The most imporant piece of equiptment for a novice or pro paintball player is the mask. I would reccomend a JT usa mask with thermal lens (anti-fog). Jt makes a ton of different PB mask, but one of the better ones should be no less than $70. First thing is get a good mask.

As for a gun. An excellent beginning gun is a SPYDER by a company called kingman. I've fucked people up in tournaments using a spyder. Its a really great gun and is very resonably priced. And their are a ton of aftermarket parts out there for it. Unless your son gets real serious into paintball...ie) playing every weekend, you don't need an expensive gun. I've run into so many people who have $2,000 worth of equiptment, and they absolutley blow. The gun doesn't make the person, the person make's the gun

If he ends up liking paintball later down the road and wants to get a more expensive gun thats cool, but its definately not reccomended for now.

Anyway here is what you should start him off with to have good equiptment: Spyder gun, 20oz co2 tank, High-end JT mask. And if you wanna get fancy you can drop an extra $100 on an after-market "smart-parts" brand barrel. It is a lot more accurate than the stock barrel.
