There is a recent post that talks about joint pain and glucosmine/chondroitin supplementation to help with it. So it probably wouldnt hurt for you to take a look at it. For now take some ibuprofen (advil) before you go to the gym.

This stuff is fantastic - I have no relationship to this company, it was a link I clicked at another web site.

http://www.flexicose.com/flexicose-athletes/index.html

Flexicose is a high-quality liquid glucosamine joint complex that works to rebuild your cartilage and reduce your joint pain. Athletes are particularly sensitive to joint trauma or injury due to their increased activity and pounding on their joints. Flexicose is especially beneficial for joint health for any athlete that strives for the best performance possible.

Because athletes push themselves harder and faster than average people, their bodies (specifically their joints) tend to wear out or become injured more often than the average person. Fortunately, this is not something that people have to simply accept anymore. Liquid glucosamine, the main ingredient in Flexicose, provides higher levels of glucosamine directly to the joints. Liquid glucosamine serves as a building block for proteoglycans (pronounced pro-toe-gly-cans), the main component of cartilage.

Proteoglycans are essentially a really thick interwoven group of threads that weaves throughout the collagen and cartilage and is absolutely essential for joint health because they hold many times their weight of water, which both serves to lubricate and nourish the collagen. Not having water in your joints is like trying to run your car without oil - it will destroy your engine. The proteoglycans that glucosamine creates bring and hold that water there right in the joints where it does the most good.

Injuries and Damaged Cartilage

If cartilage is damaged, as commonly occurs in athletes, the thread of proteoglycans becomes weak and breaks or simply "leaks" out and thus the collagen in the joint loses its nourishment and support system as the proteoglycans (that depend largely on glucosamine) lose their ability to bind to the cartilage. This means they float away and are of little help. The result of all of this is much like a bald tire on a car in that the cartilage wears out and cannot withstand further shocks and impacts. Pain develops. Inflammation starts. The cartilage may crack or eventually may even wear out completely. Without its proteoglycan support system to keep it together and replenish it, your cartilage quickly wears out. When it wears out, you have bone spurs, broken bits of cartilage floating in synovial fluid, bone on bone grinding, inflammation and pain. Fortunately you now have options.

For existing pain, Flexicose users usually will report noticing a significant difference within seven to fourteen days. For more advanced cases, significant improvement is generally seen in about fifteen to twenty five days. Give Flexicose some time to work, just like a scrape or cut, your body cannot heal overnight but you will notice steady improvement after a week or two. Fortunately, with Flexicose's unique blend of 14 premium synergistic ingredients, you do not have to wait four to six WEEKS, like with many low bioavailability pills or tablets. Flexicose also works great as a preventitive measure.

Flexicose contains 14 powerful ingredients:
Glucosamine Sulfate, Glucosamine HCL, Chondroitin Sulfate, MSM, Manganese, Omega 3, Yucca, Bromelaine, Boswellia, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Aloe Vera Gel and Niacinamide.

Have you tried the product and if so how long have you been using it

glucosmine/chondroitin supplementation is the best for your joints bro. I use it during winny and GH stacks and helps really great. But I double the recommended dose on it.

I bought for the beau he's about to start his 2nd bottle and he doesn't believe anything works. He was popping handfulls of aleve everyday primarily due to the athritic pain in his hands (could barely straighten his fingers out) and he says he's in a lot less pain (about 85% less)

He says he also noticed less overall joint swelling, and less pain in his knees, elbows and ankles.

also you could get a product called "stop pain" best stuff i've ever used.
my knee that has bothered me for almost a year, is now almost healed!

You can find it at QVC, Eckerds, most any pharmacy.

Thanks for the info. Us older fellas are always looking for something new and different to combat the aches and pains!

Is it similar to Glucosamine whereby it takes several weeks to notice results and must be taken multiple times throughout the day? Gluc/Chon/MSM plus Aleve seem to help....but like to experiment with something new.

its a tropical roll on or spray(which ever you prefer) fortified with glusomanine suflate, MSM and a mixture of other ingredients (patented -that they don't say)
Take it before workouts or after-anytime you perfer.

no it has no affect on the liver.
best stuff yet.

as i've gotten older i have added 2 servings per day of knox gellatin/Jello both are splendid for joint lubrication & health.

good info here. i sympathise with this fella, because whenever i start curling heavy my wrist hurts SUPER bad. i walk around for a few days holding it, but it really kills me.
one thing i've noticed that does help a lot, when you are done with your set, put the preacher bar down and SLOWLY release your tension on it. dont just set the bar down and let go of it, it hurts the worst right when you take your hands off. ease off the bar and the pain is considerably less. trust me, i know what you 're going thru.
