Pain in Forearms??

I have a sharp pain in my forearms. Whenever I move then around and pick things up. Especciakly when im spotting someone.

Any Ideas what this could be?

i have this problem also. My pain is so great i cant do regular bicep curls, i have to do hammer's. There is no pain while i hold the weights, but as soon as i put them down i get a terrible pain along the outside of my forearm. Any help would be great

how bout when you bench and let go of the bar? if so, it is similar to shin splints but in your forearms. i used to get it when i switched to powerlifting but it will subside. work thru the pain for now and alternate hot and cold a few times for 15 minutes each. you can also take ibubrofen if it is unbearable. you can do 600 - 800 mg 3 x a day for a couple days

Thanx to both of you for the replies. Slopy I get the same thing.

Devastation, yeah i think its a splint or something like that. I will just take some ibuprofene for the pain.

Thankx again to both of you. JJ

hey, try not to barbell curl for a couple of weeks, or take an extra day between doing biceps, I get this only when I curl to soon after another bicep day

Have this problem only when on and just coming off......hurts like hell to pick up a damn pen sometimes. Honestly think it is due to the excess weight you are pushing, it takes time for the forearm muscles (because they are used so much) to adjust to the added mass and pressure you are putting on them. Pretty much everyone I know has this issue while on, no one complains though when their forearms look like Popeye's :) .....still hurts like a MF. They will eventually adjust, just take it a tad easier on them in the meantime, no worries!!

Ok. I went to the doctors today to see if it was really bad and the doc told me that it was because I was lifting too heavy too soon. The tendons tore and they have to repair. That is what the pain is from. Nothing serious.

Good to hear, that sounds about right.....I bet this is more common than you would think.

Devastation .. has it right on... just like shin splints..
...you have to let them heal.. 1st time i went from ez-curl bar curls to
straight bar... i got the same thing... pissed me off.. so i let them rest did light weight.. for a while... and worked my way up slowly with weight... finally made it back to my regular strenght.. and have not had a problem since
