oxidized?

hey,
just wondering if someone can give me some more info on protein being oxidized....i'm asking because my PWM contains 50-60g of whey, and a friend of mine told me to cut that back b/c half of it will get oxidized anyhow!
is this true? are there any potential side-effects/health consequences?

Leave it how it is...assuming there is a good amount of carbs in there. Protein is not the body's ideal choice for energy, so as long as there are other substrates available...most of the protein goes into the amino acid pool to aid in protein turnover/synthesis.

awesome...thanx...
so does oxidation of protein occur? and when does this happen?
i take 3 proetin shakes per day for a total of 150g of Protein...is this too much?
1- with 3/4 cup of oatmeal
2- with 2 tablespoons of olive oil
3- PWM with 100g of dextrose
Does this sound ok over and beyond my regular meals?

Sounds good bro...one thing though...I'd probably stay off the protein shakes and try to get your protein through real food as much as possible. A post-workout shake is definitely the way to go...but other than that I think 3 shakes per day is too much.

for sure....i agree 100%... the only thing is that I find it very hard to choke down that much food in one day and combine that with a very hectic schedule....well that's where the shakes fit in...
my concern is that if this is okay for gains and health in the long term?
