I'm at 6 1/2 weeks post hip replacement surgery. I received good advice here and from Clarence Bass on exercise routines. I am doing the stack on a leg press sled and some heavy iron for other lower body exercises. I've advanced to the point that I am now doing traditional upper body exercises too.
Within 4-8 more weeks, I'll be doing my push/leg&abs/pull routine and pushing my old weights. I even have a desire for a cycle with an old school stack. Maybe get back up to 230 and scare the Drs ... LOL
Why should you care? Because everyone needs to know the benefits of exercise, diet and recovery for the unexpected damage, disease or injury that will come into your life.
I, the surgeons, and the pt's at U of M are convinced that my body recovered quickly because of the health benefits I got from the above. Sure .... all that leg work might have caused the injury. But this new part is working fine. I was under the Smith Machine today, coming down the parallel with no problems. Only 145, but a start.
Keep training, eating healthy and getting your rest!
