I seem to be a dinosaur at my gym. Most over 40 guys do not get near my weight or style.
History:
I am 45 and also recovering from a near fatal auto accident. 2 years of rehab and to many hospital stays to mention, 3.5 years total away from the gym.
Currently, I am only back at the gym for a little over a year and into my second cycle, first was extreme beginners and I am only steady at the gym each week as with my new cycle. Trained for pro in late 70's thru 80's, never got the nod. I have trained almost all my life for me which is what I am doing now. My style is more of a power lifter not body builder, I no I will never reach that look again. However, I love the feel of strength
Since I got back I started completely from scratch, I have a long way to go, I am not near the physical shape I will settle for. However, why am I alone, except lots of younger nice people which I work out with some, and chat with most, it is great. But why are all the other guys my age on the other side of the room, or am I on the wrong side, am I fooling myself.
Basic Stats:
Age 45
Wt 240 lbs
Ht 6’ 1”
BF 18% (might be off, not checked recently)
Diet 3500 to 4000 cal/day
300 to 400 protien/day
Good Vitamin and Mineral intake
Work out:
Moderate to heavy/ 6 days
2 cardio and moderate weight.
4 Heavy
App 1.5 to 2 hrs.
Current Cycle, wk 5:
Test C
Dec
Prov
Clom
Question:
Am I the only older guy in the game, a rarity, at the wrong gym or on the wrong side?
Any advice or comparable circumstances welcome.
Thanks for your help and also thanks for the warm welcome from some I recieved as a newbe.
Remember; You are only as old as you allow your mind to make you believe.
