Ok guys here's the deal. I am in the final weeks of my cycle, and today at the gym I was doing flat barbell bresses. I was on my last rep of a 5 rep set, so going pretty heavy, when at the bottom of the rep I heard or felt what I thought was a muscle strain. It was kinda painful, but I was able to finish my workout(lightly at that). So anyway I thought I had strained my pectorial tie in. After coming home and the muscle pump wearing down, it now feels like it's coming from inside my shoulder, like my joint or something. It isn't extremely painful, so I'm fairly certain that it isn't real serious. It hurts the most when putting my left arm all the way back like doing a fly.


My question is what do u guys think happened, and what can I do to improve things. If it is worse tomorrow I may see the doc, but I wana finish this cycle strong, and an injury is the perfect ingredient for loosing alot of my gains.

The best thing would be to not train that area anymore. Let it heal. If it gets worse see a doc.

First off don't train it for a few days let it rest. Also what I find that helps well besides weed.Is I put heat on the area for about 15 minutes, than I imediately put a cold compress on it for about 15 minutes.And I continue this every so often threw out the night or whenever Im just sittin around. My old wrestling coach had told me to do this in highschool for pain in my left shoulder and it worked.So I've been doing it ever since for pains.
 
Ok, I took a celebrex left over from my shoulder dislocation last fall(other shoulder). Hopefully that will keep some of the swelling down. I am planning on taking the week off from lifting(except legs). Does hot/cold therapy work for joints as well as muscles? i will try it.
 
Anybody know what might have happened? It is definately a joint thing. It seemed a little better when I woke up. I am wondering if maybe the the joint slipped out of locatin or partially real quick, then right back in?
 
it sounds like a slight internal strain on your rotator cuff.
if it was a tear of any kind, trust me you would know!!!
the best thing for it is rest, rest, and some more rest!!sometimes 2 days, or even 3 weeks!!
As soon as it is tolerable start doing some rotator cuff strengthening excercises, and slowly return to your normal routine
 
Ice it down for 20 mins at 5 times a day. Its frustrating but you need to rest it. Work the legs hard!!! It will not make you lose your gains but pay attention to your injury! Ice and rest, everything will be cool.
