Organic Chemistry

Im a college student who HAS to take organic chemistry for my major(biology). im pretty bad at chemistry. got a c in chem 1 and currently in chem 2 and have difficulty with it partially due to the math and calculation aspect of it. my professor took me aside and said that i should consider not taking the class because of my less than average understanding of the subject. If anyone has ever had organic chem could you give me some advice.

Thats a tough cal..

Organic Chem is quite a bit different that General Chemistry... Its very theoretical.

In general chem most everything is cut and dry... thermo equations... calaculations... most everything is done for you. You just have to memorize it.

Organic Chem is quite a bit different in taht ytou actually have to UNDERSTAND how the molecule interact with each other.

The truth of the matter is ... as long as your reasonablly intelligent... a good teacher is what will make or break you in O chem.

I loved O chem and one of my biggest regrest in life will be not becoming an Organic Chemost of some sort.
