Optimizing time on = time off

For numerous reasons we generally advise that time on = time off. Although this sucks for steady gains, over time it results in the net gain of lean mass. One question that keeps popping into my head is how to optimize this time on = time off. Of couse the half-life of different anabolics surely influences the duration of the cycle, (e.g. 10 on 10 off for a deca cycle), but do you think that short acting anabolics may be a better route?

For example, taking this principle to an extreme, one could take 25mg/day dbol every other day and still comply with the time on = time off. Would this result in better gains all around? What about maybe a 4 week dbol/fina cycle with 4 weeks off in between? This would allow you to do almost 7 cycles a year compared to two 10 week cycles.

Any thoughts?

I'm a firm believer in short cycles. I actually did a Fina/D-BOL cycle for 4 weeks on/off/on again. Worked great. Kept nice gains and even cut up. In fact I am in the middle of a 4 week Fina/D-BOL cycle right now, except D-BOL is kept to 15mg ED and taken in the AM as not to affect HPTA.

Big Mack

you have to consider the stress that you put on your body. Your body must have time to recover, as well as your natural test production. I would also consider receptor senceitivity a big part too.

I go with staying off at least equal to time on and I try to shoot for 1.5-2x on. I plan on doing this for a while and I really dont need to be fucking myself up. That keeps me to 2 big cycles or 3-4 small ones per year. But I will probably be doing less once I get up to the weight I like(which I am getting closer to).
