Ask him when he was a child what did he want to be when he grew up and why? The "what" part is not interesting without the "why" part.

Then ask him when he dies, how does he want to be remembered? (Good parent doesn't count as this is a given/too easy).

Finally I would ask at what moment did he realize he was successfull, that he was head and shoulders above the herd... or is he still driven by thinking that he had not achieved the apex? In other words, did *all that money* and notariety enhance/reinforce his self-image or did the luxury of privilige lead him to think along a different path?
