Opinions please!! Sitting at a desk eating at work????

I sit at a desk from 8-4 during the week working on a computer. I work out at least 4 times a week. I know my calorie level I "should" be eating=Body weight times 12..6 meals a day. Should I still eat that many meals and calories(probably 3 of those meals at work...I am a single mom..so it is impossible for me to work out in the morning....I usually never eat breakfast and if I do it is at work around 9)even though I am basically inactive for 8 hours? I feel like it is counterproductive to eat(even if it is good food) and sit at my desk before I go to the gym at 4:30. It reminds me of sitting on the couch watching TV and snacking. Won't I lose more if I don't feed myself while I sit and just eat dinner at home after the gym??? Why????
 
Last time I checked, it's pretty hard to eat while working out :)

You'll always be sitting down when you eat. What you need to do is eat smaller meals during those sedentary hours and eat the bigger meals when you're most active. I work from 7:30 to 4:00 MWF and go to class TTh....I'm always eating at my desk or in class while sitting around, but I don't gain unnecessary fat because of it. Just keep in mind that per hour you're expending less when at hour so the portions will be smaller, but don't cut them out


Never skip breakfast!
 
today i feel like a pig...a its 3:45 my time and since 8:30 this morning I have had glass of V8...Bagel with fat free cream cheese, whole wheat pita with fat free cheese and turkey, dill pickle, hot peppers...i feel like i have gained 200 lbs sitting here eating and doing nothing!!!!
