dumbell bent over rows vs deadlifts.

with a bit of a lower back issue, and not very good form, would doing db bent over rows be a good substitute for the deadlifts?
just after a good solid back exercise i can do at home.(i also do tons of pullups)
thanks

Dumbell bent over rows is a compound lift for back so it could work. I'm guessing you put a knee on the bench for stabilization. Bent over barbell rows or t bar rows would probably put too much stress on your lower back, aye?

The bad news is there is no substitute for deads, but pull-ups and chin-ups(especially weighted),heavy rowing(which I hate),and a few easy sets of hypers with some minor core work should get you through until your back gets better.
