Operation "Odyssey Dawn" = Gulf War III?

The funny part is how politically motivated the discussion of this subject has been. I don't mean just here in this thread, but everywhere, in the press, online discussions, blogs, personal conversation... 'Cause if McCain was President he'd have done it sooner than Obama did.

Well, meet the new boss...same as the old boss...:)

and I would be here criticizing Grandpa Monster for poking his nose in North African/Southern European matters while praying he lives (I'm an atheist) so that know nothing Palin doesn't have her finger on the nuclear button.

I've actually had to swallow some bile tonight watching Rachel go on and on about the reluctant warrior Obama....I was hoping MSNBC would actually show some objectivity...Apparently, their entire prime time lineup is bizzaro Hannity...

I love all this "reluctant warrior" horseshit that circulating right now. When Barry bombs somebody, he's a "reluctant warrior". When Bush did it, he was a "cowboy war criminal".

Barry needs to leave Brazil and come back to make his argument in front of Congress.

Oh, for the record I have just as much legal education as every member of the Supreme Court and more than many prestigious justices of the past...

May we assume, then, that your appointment to the judge's bench is eminent?

And how is it then that The War Powers Act has somehow existed since the 1970s without being challenged by the Supremes? Like it or not, it's the law of the land.

"The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation."

-- Barack Obama, December 2007

Yeah, me, Ralph Nader, Michael Moore and Dennis Kuchinich see eye-to-eye on sooooooo many issues.

LOL..I know, I actually agree with the esteemed progressive liberal congressman from Ohio. I'm not gonna go super constitutional and demand a declaration of war but an authorization of force based on a majority vote in the house and senate would be nice.

Probably not, since the POTUS gets to appoint and they always choose cronies....Hell, until the last twenty years they weren't really contested appointments. FDR managed to pack the court with enough cronies to nullify the 10th Amendment as well as imprison U.S. citizens of Japanese, German and Italian descent with a presidential order and no due process, lucky for my family that my Prussian grandfather was a strike breaker for the mining company and the company protected our family from the government. I know Obama is trying to ignore the rule of law but he's no FDR..
