"Open Waters"

High End Bro

An independent film- very raw and original. It looks like it was done with a camcorder almost, but once they get in the water, this style of filming pays off in spades for conveying the eerily realistic mood, considering it is based on true events.

Well worth a watch.

Think Blair Witch in the ocean.
lol.

my friend had an experience sorta like it.

He was kiteboarding and he was pretty new at it. the rule of thumb is you only go out as far as you want to swim back. well i guess he never heard that before. so his ass is riding about 3/4 mile out to sea (mind you i never go farther than 100 yards out) and his line breaks. he falls in the water and the lines wrap around him so he cant swim. thank god he had a life vest on. the more he tried to untangle himself the more tangled he got. i didn't see him go down but i saw his kite in the water and after a couple minutes i didn't see him get back up so i knew something was wrong. so i had to call the coast guard and they came out all Baywatch like with their glorified fishing boat with the two obnoxiously big outboard motors and rescued him.

heard it sucked bad

Only if you're expecting a big Hollywood budget with big special effects.

i saw this. one of those movies we are all supposed to love because it is an independent movie but ends up being a bore.

I won't watch it because I am a diver. And it is scary enough coming up in cancun on a drift dive and the boat not being there. One time we came up and the boat was almost 300yds away. He couldn't see us because of the waves. And two of the five divers with me had the little helium baloon you blow up to to rise above the waves so the boat can see ya. Both of them didn't work. Then the dive master took off his tank and put the valve right below the water line and turned the air on to make the water splash up high. After 45 minutes the boat finally saw us. Pretty scary to say the least.

Npw imagine having seen the movie I would have been thinking about some dang sharks eating me alive while I was waiting. No thanks. Horror movies ruin you enjoyment of life with fear.

The only good part of this movie was the brief boobage nudity and a
couple of good camera shots of half above half under the waterline showing the sharks massing..

The ending was a surprise..
