Starring and directed by Kevin Costner. Magnificent scenery and terrific cinematography. The gun battle was a classic and the movie has a genuiness to it. The acting was pretty good and the story succeeded in drawing you in as it seemed authentic.
On the downside, the romance between Costner and Anette Benning actually made me leave early. Gibson is much better at romance scenes if you catch my drift. The youthful character of Buttons was neither likable nor interesting and added almost nothing. The romance also made the ending drag on too long though I did leave early as my stomach was turning over it.
The scenery was breathtaking but the movie had a flawed feeling to much of it and I would call it a fairly average movie.......a C+. it is no Dances with Wolves.
